Got tickets for this and am heading up to Townsville with the family. Will be back in time on Sunday arvo to watch the Sharks on TV too. If Sharks don't win the comp then I hope Cowboys do. Oh, and this is the actually the first NRL match i'll have ever gone to. I went to a pre-season trial in Mackay between the Sharks and Cowboys a few years back but that doesn't count.
I was gutted when I found out this is being played on Saturday night since I'm having my 21st on Saturday night. Probably won't be able to watch the game. Cowboys will probably win though, since Norman is playing 5/8th again.
Any reason for it being your first NRL game? I reckon I've been to ~50 matches and I live an hour and a half away from Brisbane.
I live in Carmila, about an hour south of Mackay. Townsville and Brisbane are the closest stadiums and i'm pretty much smack bang in the middle. I think it's 9 hours to Brizzy from here and about 7 hours to Townsville. Also, it's probably less appealing to me to go to matches around here because i'm a Sharks fan. I always have something on when the Sharks are up this way.
I think he was having a dig about me working in a servo. I used to work at the Mobil (which is now a BP) in Carmila but like I said, that was over 2 years ago.
My 79 year old grandmother today told me the Broncos won't win as long as Norman is in the team. The woman knows her shit.
The only way the Broncos win is if they get lucky at the start with a few tries from a crossfield kick (rugby league's go to play) and build momentum from that
