Wait, I'm confused. Is this supposed to be our favourites or the best of the "big bands"?

Your opinion of the top 10 greatest bands of all time. There is a difference between that and your favourites but I'm not going to press the distinction. Just post whatever you like, favourite or otherwise.

Fair enough. Thought I'd ask because I find that just because I might prefer X over Y, doesn't mean they're a "greater" band in the grand scheme of things.

Out of interst MF are your 10 favorite bands the same as who you consider to be the 10 greatest?

  6. Old Mate M Perry

Yeah I can see why people like L.A. Woman more, it's more blues. Depends what you're taste of music is like really, dig Strange Days because it's their more psychedelic album of the lot.

Nah. I actually don't really like Led Zeppelin or U2 that much. I just happen to have a great deal of respect for their talent and catalogues of work.

Good man, I've always regarded Queen as one of the most over rated musical acts of all time.

U2 had multiple hit singles on just about every album they released afaik and they are still going strong, so I don't think that argument really applies for them. I think their position on MF's list is perfectly justified.

I only considered bands. If I was including artists; then Bob Dylan, Elliott Smith, Nick Drake, Damien Rice and maybe another 1 or 2 would be on the list.
