Honestly cannot believe Mannah only took 2 runs for 14m. Cunt only made 18 tackles so it's not as if he was burnt out.
I guess. Stuart only gave him 19 minutes which was bizarre. Maybe he was burnt out. 18 tackles in 19 minutes.
How good was Corey Parker? I thought he had a great game. Also laughed when I saw him pole-axe Bird without the ball. Haha.
Happy with the team this year tbh, really hope we don't change it round too much. Hayne, Stewart, Dugan it really doesn't matter that's already a massive boost to the team. Gidley seems to be getting a lot of wraps but fuck I thought he was shit, tried hard and looked dangerous but some of his decision making was woeful & was pretty much the whole reason we had no strucuture in attack. Wouldn't drop him because it's not his role but seriously can't understand the hype. Gleen Stewart was suprisingly gun too.
Gave Galloway only half the time, really don't fucking get it. Want to see Sticky stay on for next year but hope he changes his attitude towards his front row rotation. Not like there's a lack of quality options.
Gidley created two line breaks and made a lot of ground plus he defended well. I agree his decision making is rubbish at times but he was better than a lot of other players in the team.
Nah Pearce was poor, still really pissed about that kick out on the full you can excuse the rest of his performance but that kick was massive just compounding the Mini & Borris errors. He should of taken more onus on our structure in attack (we were playing way too much catch up footy) but looking to the youngest player in the team for composure when we've spent about 95% of the game in our own half is pretty harsh. Gidley really didn't help out the halves though which is what I'm getting at, not that I blame him personally it was just unfortunate that Ennis got injured. You disagree?
Pearce's defence was thoroughly exposed just as in Game 1, IMO. Playing Bird, Watmough or Lewis next to him is just asking for trouble IMO.
Yeh he was dangerous and a 20-30 minute cameo would of been perfect which is why he was there in the first place but he was way too selfish and it resulted in a panicked attack imo.
Time to start looking to 2012. The best QLD side we can come up with next year I think would be: 1.Billy Slater 2.Darius Boyd 3.Greg Inglis 4.Brent Tate 5.Jharal Yow Yeh 6.Johnathan Thurston 7.Cooper Cronk 8.Matt Scott 9.Cameron Smith (c) 10.David Shillington 11.Ashley Harrison 12.Sam Thaiday 13.Dallas Johnson 14.Matt Ballin 15.Ben Hannant 16.Nate Myles 17.Corey Parker 18.Dave Taylor 19.Neville Costigan I considered, as I think most people will, Matt Gillett as the new utility. It just doesn't make sense though. A hooker replacement is the only logical solution afaic. If one of the halves goes down then we play Smith or Harrison there. Smith already plays as one anyone as far as the properties of said position are concerned. However, if Smith goes down then we must have a quality replacement for hooker. It's the most demanding job on the field IMO. Thus, the most logical selection would be a hooker who can move to lock should there be no injuries. Harrison, Myles and Parker cover virtually every position on the field thus there's no point in picking Gillett as he cannot play hooker, which is vital. Furthermore, Gillett is far too loose for my liking. Thus, I believe Nathan Friend or Matt Ballin are the primary options. Ballin proved his worth and deserves to be recalled IMO. He gives crisp service, tackles well and although he doesn't offer much by way of a running game, I don't really think it's necessary. I just want someone who can tackle and won't drop the ball. Someone who offers reliability - I always go for reliability. If Smith plays 80, he comes on for 20 minutes to give Johnson a rest not to mention allowing Smith to rest whilst staying on the field by taking over a lot of the grunt work of shovelling out ball for the forwards. Frankly, I don't think we should blood anyone next year unless injury strikes.
It will once again be very difficult to win a series when there are two games in Sydney. Game 1 will be vital.
Six State Of Origin series in a row. QLD are undoubtedly the superior RL state with the last 30 years as evidence.
Watched the Blues first try about 5 times and still cannot get over how they did not go to the video referee. What a travesty.
Just saw the incident involving Smith and, as CricSim's official Refereeing/Rules expert, it was a deserved 8-point try. No matter where a palyer is on the field, he cannot lead into a tackle with his knees.
Gallen is too good for both teams. He should be playing for heaven's team getting inside balls of God then offloading it off to Jesus who busts through drawing the fullback and giving it to Moses who goes over.
Can't help but think had Jennings played as Hayne did last night you would be saying something different.
