Your own League season - 2013

not in 2013. they did last year but the port sharks have moved from group 2 to group 3. group 2 was the northern group which incorporated macksville along with the likes of Coffs Harbour and Kempsey sides. group 3 is southern and includes both port teams, taree, Forster etc etc.

so, no.

 

Yeah as Julian said we've moved back to the Southern comp this season.

We moved to Group 2 in 1995 after winning 8 out of the previous 10 GF's in Group 3 and were far too good for everyone else. Group 2 was a stronger comp at this point so we joined Group 2 and won a 6 or so prems in 20 years but the last 5 years or so the extended travel and sunday games that the move created became a bloking point to players who were not indoctrinated as Sharks, this got exacerbated by the creation of Group 3 PMQ side in the early 00's because quality league players were having to play reserves etc.

The Group 3 comp is on Saturdays and has 50% less travel so now we've moved back home for this season. Have raided the quality blokes who played Pub comp on saturdays cos they hate the Breakers (other p mac club) and have recruited a couple of boys from Union/Newy comp/Breakers. They've also brought back the Camden Haven side so we now have 4 Hastings Group League clubs in the same comp. Going to be the best rivalry games this season, so fucking amped.

There's a few really good players in that Saturday league comp, but most are pretty ordinary. Some clubs must have money though cos Liam got offered 200 a game I think for one of those clubs from out west. That's a lot of money for a pub side to offer players.

That's the same coin I'm getting per game through Sharks. We decimated Lake Cathie who were a cut above in that comp because they had two brothera who are both good group quality halves and a reasonable hooker we brought across as well now we're back to Saturdays.

I heard that Comboyne offerred Michael Bright 20k a season to captain coach them. they have coin that's for sure.

 

Yeah pretty sure it was comboyne that offered him and fudge that each a game last season.

 

Bright is a fucking epic gun though. Remember being in disbelief at this fucking gangly bloke being the hardest cunt I'd seen in the comp.

 

He's the absolute man. Best player I've played with as far as forwards are concerned, probably equal with Matty Shipway. Dunno if you'd know him though. Captain coaches Souths in Newy Iirc now

 

Forgot Josh Cale too. The best prop in country footy easily. Played half a season of first grade in the second row collecting his offloads

I reckon dunc is one of the harder blokes across group 2 as well.
