    Do you think you were loose up the middle though?

    Sticking Johnson up the middle of the ruck isn't going to help the fact that Inglis, Thaiday, Thurston and Hodges can't tackle on the fringes.

    Given Petro might be retiring and the fact that Lillyman played two games as a front rower this year, you'd have to think player tighter would help his chances. Especially since he plays a lot better tighter anyway.

    Yeah but Petro might be unavailable for the entire series next year.

    They really don't seem to want to use Myles, Thaiday, Taylor or Parker up the middle at all. They'd sooner pick Lillyman than do it, so I reckon Costigan's chance is to play tight and be first prop reserve ahead of Lillyman than re-join the neverending queue of fringe runners such as Gillett and Te'o trying to crack a start for the first time.

    Especially since he'll play shithouse if he plays wide because he's crap there.

    To the question yes I do. I don't think Smith and Harrison handled the job very well. NSW made quite a few breaks this year through the middle and the general hitting/driving capacity was severely down.

    Furthermore, actually it does have an effect on the fringes. Johnson's cover of those areas was sorely missed. Harrison doesn't get around the park in defence like DJ does.

    I'd honestly go Kingston, although can see definitiely see QLD going for someone who is more capable of playing lock.

    Ballin, yes. Friend no. I'm actually only picking Ballin because he played well as a starting hooker in Origin. I think it's pretty clear that Nathan Friend is the second best hooker in QLD.

    Yeh gun tackle at 1.08

    Pretty obvious they'll go Ballin imo but personally I'd go Kingston. Better impact player which isn't compromised in his defence & the more likely to suceed if he had to play in the halves. Although I guess you could argue they've always got Smith if needed.

    Can't really go wrong with the hookers on option tbh, reckon picking someone like Gillett though would be a fail, not because of him as a player just doesn't cover dummy half if Smith went down injured .

    And I'll bet good money that because of the "utility" tag that he has which Ballin and others do not, they'll pick him.
