Saw it last night, thought it was good and I hate olden time type movies.

Wasn't really expecting to like Steve Jobs, but gave it a go because it was a Danny Boyle movie and rate Michael Fassbender as one of the best actors on the planet. Much better and more interesting than expected 9/10

    The Ridiculous 6. Thoroughly entertaining.

It gets 0% on RottenTomatoes

    You have good taste

Why anyone invests energy into looking at Rotten Tomatoes is beyond me. Terrible rating system.

Seriously? I've given up hope on Sandler.

It is so fucking bad that it's good IMO.

I think it's an excellent rating system. And it's a far superior film website to IMDb or any other

A rating system that doesn't distinguish between different ratings. I don't believe something is either really good or really bad. If I voted for a movie that was alright but nothing special as "yes I liked it" and also voted yes for one of the best movies ever...there's no disparity in my rating despite the disparity of the film.

You do realise it's just a percentage of film critics who liked it. It's very simple.

You haven't suggested a better system. Are you wanting each critic to give it a mark out of 10 or 100 or something? They don't do that do they. They usually use a 4 or 5 star system

The Ridiculous 6 is underwhelming. Sandler and co in the wild west instead of any other scenario they have done to death.

Yeah and what I'm saying is "liking it" can mean different things.

Yes any rating system mentioned is better, a 5 star system the worst of the lot (less variance than out of 10 or even 100) but still a lot better than the current rotten tomatoes approach.

The critics don't decide themselves whether they like it or not. RT decides that

didn't really know what to expect but it was an enjoyable and funny film.

I think Rotten Tomatos is usually pretty spot on when a film is good. Anything that gets 90+% on RT is worth watching. However I agree it's not great when it rates films fairly low because whether you enjoy a film or not is very subjective.
