0:00: Elite Warriors kick off.

 

1st minute: An early attack by Elite Warriors and Maicon is forced to clear into touch for Phoenix. A poor throw by Arshavin to Ashley Cole is intercepted by Bellamy. Phoenix on the counter attack now! Skilful passing in the centre of the field as the Elite Warriors defense tries to scramble back. Eventually the ball is passed down to Balotelli with a bit of space in the middle. He gets past Terry into the penalty area and SHOOTS! Excellent keeping by van der Sar as he deflects the shot but the danger is still there. AND BARRY TAKES THE REBOUND AND SHOOTS IT FIRST TOUCH! GOAL REDWOOD PHOENIX!

9th minute: van der Sar with the goal kick and it reaches Benzema about 25 yards out from the opposition goal. Toure does well to leap over Benzema and head it out of danger. That's going far too, as Balotelli comes up to take it, but he missed the header. Looks like Terry was holding on to him as the ref calls a foul. Surely he should have played advantage as the ball was going straight for an unmarked Bellamy.

10th minute: Puyol takes the free kick and the ball is played out to Cristiano Ronaldo on the right wing. An excellent pass to towards the far post takes out all the defenders as Ribery collects it and tries to play it into the six yard box for either Bellamy or Balotelli, but it deflects off Eboue and falls into the hands of a relieved van der Sar. That could have been an easy goal for one of the Phoenix strikers.

 

15th minute: Phoenix look to be in control here, but the van der Sar now has the ball and boots it down to Benzema. Wait, the assistant referee has his flag up. Apparently he was offside, but I can't see it. Buffon with the free kick about 30 yards out. He kicks it down towards Balotelli. Both Gallas and Balotelli miss the header! And it's still going! Amazing, THE BALL HITS THE POST. Surely van der Sar should have caught that instead of leaving it to luck.

 

It was pretty funny, so I had to include it tbh.

 

29th minute: John Terry is at it again. The ref blows his whistle saying he pulled Balotelli's shirt as he went for the header. This is what, the third time he's done that? Wonder when he'll start being warned for that.

30th minute: Now Barry with the free kick. The ball is passed around a bit before Balotelli comes up and takes it just outside the penalty area. Poor marking by Gallas there and BALOTELLI TAKES A SHOT! THAT'S GOT VAN DER SAR DIVING AND.... IT HITS THE POST! Ashley Cole misses the ball and NOW CRISTIANO RONALDO SHOOTS! Oh brilliant work by van der Sar as he gets back to his feet and just manages to tip the ball over. Corner Phoenix.

 

No ****ing wonder Gaz he has 4 AM playing in his Midfield .

 

35th minute: Ribery can't take Evra's pass and the Elite Warriors have a throw just inside the Phoenix half. Eboue throws it to Messi, who plays it down to Tevez. Tevez can't control it well enough and Barry comes back to knock it away. But THAT PUTS THE BALL IN THE PENALTY BOX FOR BENZEMA! BUFFON COMES UP TO TRY TO TAKE IT! BENZEMA KNOCKS IT PAST BUFFON AND THE GOAL IS AT HIS MERCY! GOAL ELITE WARRIORS! What stunning work by Karim Benzema. 1-all here at Compton Lane.

 

HALFTIME: The first 30 minutes were dominated by the Redwood Phoenix but Elite Warriors FC pulled back in the last 15 to tie the score at 1-1.

 

50th minute: Elite Warriors FC have come out strong after the break and have basically camped inside the Phoenix half. Ronaldinho now has the ball down the right wing but Evra comes up and makes a bad challenge. Foul to EWFC. Arshavin crosses it into the penalty area, looking for Ronaldinho but Veloso makes the vital header to clear the ball. Kaka now and he runs up to about 25 yards out before he SHOOTS! Too easy for Buffon as it goes straight to his hands.

52nd minute: Possession changed many times in the last minute as both teams attempt quick counterattacking football. But here's a chance for EWFC! Ashley Cole heads the ball down to Benzema down the centre. He passes it to Arshavin on the left wing and he sends it back inside to Kaka. Veloso tries to take him but Kaka beats him as soon as he receives the ball and now he's open. HE TAKES IT INTO THE PENALTY AREA AND SHOOTS WITH HIS LEFT FOOT! GOAL ELITE WARRIORS! The ball just beat Buffon past the left post. It is now 1-2 to EWFC.
