There's a ton more star bats though.

  2. Skippos SM Morgan

    How many star glovemen though?

The way I see it though is that when everyone else is picking their keeper, you'll be picking your 7th batsman and they're likely to be of a similarish quality anyway. If you get what I'm saying.

  4. Skippos SM Morgan

Perhaps, yeah. But I back myself to snaffle a good left field bat whereas I don't think there'll be enough keepers to do that.

A lot of the 'star bats' are getting on in years now, as in mid 30s.

  6. Gazza GJ Weaver

Saffers for the top 3. I was looking at all three too

Yeah that's the thing. We have to ask ourselves: does the list of top 182 rated batsmen (ie. 7 for each side) contain 26 wicket keepers anyway? Probably does. Probably also contains 26 batting allrounders. So unless someone hoards, people should be good for balance on that front without really having to compromise.

Yeah for me Philander was top priority. I felt that there are way less quality bowlers than quality batsmen, and Philander solves one of the most pesky things about cricket drafts - finding a number 8 that can bat, without diluting the bowling.

Philander rated higher right now on the ICC Test rankings than Steyn has been rated ever. Food for thought.

I forgot how time consuming making a list of players was. Currently sitting at ~300. That's enough for now I think.

Yeah I would've taken Philander first if I had the chance.

As for the AB pick.... he's the best batsman-keeper, and a lot of the real gun bats as N11 implied aren't young. I can see why he did it.

Annoyed that I missed out on this :(

Hopefully Mitch is drafted into good hands.

    This!

    AWTA.

If Captain wants to be moved to last in the order to get a double pick, I'm fine with that.

  17. Hunter AD Hunt

Aflai to make a Saffa 5for.

    On time for what?

Hard to say they're better by any distance when AB occupies the no.1 spot on the ICC rankings and has been in the top 10 for years. Doesn't really make him the best I know but it does put him in the frame

Philander would probably have been a better all-round pick, but I like Steyn more.
