Well it's definitely cooler than the one you just fabricated out of convenience.

And after last week's embarrassing effort, I'm not giving you better odds than the bookmakers. They're out to $3. And that's only going to get higher when everyone realises how fucking average they are.

Lol tells me it's ridiculous to bet thousands whilst betting a grand that the Brosephs will finish top 4. Irony much? Eh maybe not since I still don't think you'll pay but we'll see.

Unless you're a high-roller (like me for example)...which you quite obviously are not, then the size of the bets you claim to be making are nothing short of idiotic tbh. I can avoid to risk about £500 to gain over £1500. You can't afford to pay that sort of amount from your savings from an apprentices wage.

"I'm just not cut-out" is pussy-speak for couldn't hack it in the workplace btw.

You've been saying you're going to Uni for years too. Getting a bit late in life now isn't it?

Why is sports betting a mugs game? It's the best betting investment there is. If you said slots or some shit like that, I'd agree. Sports betting is just like any other investment - the only difference is the returns are basically instant (provided what you're betting on) and much larger. All it takes is some knowledge (something people generally don't have when investing in shares and so forth) and it's also much more entertaining.

Most share investments on average return about 7-8% on average per year (provided you have a large portfolio which you'd be stupid not to) at that rate you have to invest a large portion of money to make it worthwhile whereas betting you can invest significantly less for an equal or better outcome. Just got to be smart really.

I've turned a $500 bankroll (just under actually) into about $2300 in just over 2 months. Any other investment that would return something like that would be fucking risky and rare (all eggs in one basket type shit). Essentially betting is just one big (and I mean big) portfolio.

I think the stigma is pretty shit because any investment is a form of gambling, there's risk and there's reward...

    Keep telling yourself that Rego.

The house always wins...either in the short or long-term...otherwise everyone would be doing it.

You'll learn the hard way eventually, trust me.

lol high roller. Okay then pal. I've wagered clear of 25k in my time and have proof of it. Where's yours?

And you're half right about affording it on apprentice wages. Electrical is the best paid trade and I was clearing a grand a week even as a first year (worked 50+ hours a week). So I could afford it actually. Fortunately I already had money in the bank.

You're talking out of your arse.

Well big bets comes a big bankroll, what you're failing to realise is he's betting profits....it's not like he's just taking $6k out of his wage to make a bet. Initially yea but if he's profited what he said he has, then that's just a portion of his profits...no different to betting less in smaller bankrolls. I will admit I wouldn't bet those sorts of amounts regardless of how big my bankroll/ profits were but that's really up to the person and what they deem appropriate.

And you gave that up? Quitter.

Look how close you were to losing 4 figures today. Just stupid betting. Just my opinion.

Bullshit. That is completely false. There are many professional gamblers who've beaten the house over the long-term. Not many relative to the overall pool of punters but then most punters are fucking morons like yourself who know jack shit.

The very bloke who runs this website, giving you space to voice your nonsense, is able to do so because of gambling as far as I know. (Apologies to EWS if that's no longer true.)

Mm. What a weak cunt I am deciding I didn't want to be a sparky. I mean that's just so weak of me.

Yeah I doubt you've ever made a serious bet like that in your entire life.

  12. Fiery GR Smith

I don't believe it's a viable career choice tbh. What do your family think of you throwing 4 figures down on footie games? Are they impressed...or don't you tell them? You obviously have no responsibilities other than yourself to be doing that otherwise. Just sayin'.

The house wins on naive bettors.

Like I said for me to lose my initial outlay of just under $500 it'd take over a year and that's not taking into account profits from previous years.

The most I can lose at Bet365 is $30 per week (deposit limit) there's what probably about 40 weeks of the year left, the most I could lose to them until the year end is $1200 (and that'd require me to lose and deposit $30 every week)

Same story with William Hill however I have a $100 per month depsoit limit/ $30 per week with them. Just under 10 months of the year left that's about $950 I could lose with them.

Paddypower (whom I barely use due to exchange rates) I have no limits - use them for only good bonuses but they have enforced stake restrictions or some shit recently so can bet piss all with them (would take a fuck tonne of bets to be able to actually bet anything significant) barely use them anyway.

For me to lose my $2.3k "bankroll" would literally mean I'd have to depsoit and lose my whole deposit every single week for more than the rest of the year just to lose my initial outlay of under $500 (which as a wise gambler I was prepared to lose) as I've withdrawn just over $2k worth over the course of the year and thus only have a couple hundred in my respective betting accounts. This doesn't even take into account previous year profits.

Correct. Complete waste of time that was for you. I doubt you could stick at anything though tbh

Correct. I have never and would never put 4 figures on any sports game. It is just foolish. And I work hard for my money and have financial responsibilities. The biggest sports bet I have ever made is the one I just made with you. (I don't consider that 4 figures. I see it as £500). And I would be lying if I said I wasn't slightly nervous about it

And Rego's completely right. If you know what you're doing, and have strict discipline and self-control, it is far more profitable than many other investment streams. We're not talking roulette here. There are observable patterns and discernible characteristics that can give an edge to the player. The game, sports betting that is, is constantly evolving though and we evolve with it. A player finds an edge, destroys the book for a while and then the book adapts. EWS gave an example of FTS in years gone by. Points totals algorithms in basketball is another. It's finding an edge, doing the homework to exploit it, and then adapting when the book catches up.

They're indifferent. They realise it's my money and they hope I do well. Yeah they think some of my bets are silly but results speak for themselves.

You would be in the foetal position in a corner somewhere today if the Panthers hung on.

  18. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

You should be more than slightly.

  19. Fiery GR Smith

We'll see what happens. I can afford it. The worst part would be having to give it to you. Would just encourage your habit.

Hung on to what? A 14 point lead? Canterbury only had to be within 13.5 points for me to win. After MBye scored his first I couldn't give a shit who went on to win a tight match from there.
