Yeah you must've seen something I didn't. My fortune detector doesn't pick up on referee errors. Particularly ones as bad as that. So you backed Cronulla to beat Newcastle at home when they were 8-0 down and had lost Gallen, and you think that was a good bet because you won? Okay............
I don't see Lewis making 180m a game every week in his stead. Nor Heighington 195m. NRL Stats also has Fifita down for 270m.
The Wright second try was complete balls. The Boyd call you're talking about rubbish though. If they were to call that they should have called the Newcastle defenders offside against the dropkick and the previous dropkick before that.
Nah lol Cronulla to score more than 11.5 pts at 1.78 I thought Newcastle would win but never thought Sharks were zero chance.
It's got nothing to do with the metres. We haven't really seen the full ability of the rest of our go forward since Gallen takes two runs a set. It's got everything to do with his involvement in set plays, backline movements etc etc. Without his overbearing involvement, we'll be a much better squad. It allows for the bench spot to be utilized more efficiently as well.
Exactly. There were many calls that weren't called for both sides, to single a particular one out is unfair.
Well, that's quite bit different isn't it? Well done though. Good to see punters keeping the bookies honest. It didn't even cross my mind that after completing at 82% in the first half, that they would come out and complete at 100% through 18 sets in the second. They ended up at 92% overall, and still shouldn't have won. Goes to show what happens when you hold the ball.
Well, Newcastle had the first two proper shots and I thought Cronulla had offside players both times. I'm fine for them not to call penalties in those situations as long as both sides get the same treatment. So I'd say those ones cancel each other out. It's a moot point anyway because we both agree that Wright's try was beyond ridiculous. Big difference between 14-4 and 14-8 at HT.
I agree Gallen is a hindrance and should stick to basically playing front row with the 13 on his back but you can't deny his metreage is going to be missed. Halve Lewis, Heighington and Fifita's metreage today and what do you look like? I think you'll struggle especially if they keep playing Tagataese up front.
I don't think it could be any more obvious that Carney should be picked for NSW, regardless of what Maloney is doing.
Bryce Gibbs should be back in the next couple of rounds which is a massive boost. I think our metreage will be fine when it's shared amongst, Fifita , Ross, Gibbs, Heighington and Lewis. Throw in Graham and Tupou and we're in good stead.
Couldn't agree more. Find it appalling that the main defence for Maloney to play is his partnership with Pearce. Even though Carney played with Pearce for two years, and last years Origin as well.
Carney's game is also far more suited to a combination with Pearce in general. What you're saying is something Hindmarsh accidentally touched on. Gordon Tallis started crapping on about the big advantage Queensland have over NSW is that their spine players have played a lot together, and he'd go for a combination of players who had played together a lot in the halves. Hindmarsh just assumed he meant Carney after that but he actually meant Maloney.
I'll bet anything that they pick Maloney. If he wasn't partnering Pearce at the Roosters, Carney would be retained but Daley's gonna go for this club combination shit again like he did when he was a selector.
