It has absolutely nothing to do with anything they said. He was loose, as usual. Far too loose for Origin. The amount of times he looks to offload, especially at poor times and positions, is far too high. He'd be much more effective if he forgot about the pseudo-ball playing and just focused on running the pill. In that area, I think he's excellent. He has great footwork and a good fend and knows how to find a gap or the line. We already know he can do it as he's done it before to an extent far beyond Gillett (40-60 tackles as opposed to 20-30). Gillett still made a shitload of ineffective tackles. And just for good measure, what difference does it make if he plays one good/better game in defence? One game is jack shit. lol at you posting irrational and weak arguments as a result of a hissy fit that always develops whenever Gillett is criticised.
Ref's call is used when the referee has a firm opinion but wants to make sure, but the video referee doesn't have as good a view of the incident in question than the referee. Benefit of the doubt is used when neither the video referee or the referee have a firm opinion. Personally I hate the benefit of the doubt rule and think all decisions should be made on the balance of probabilities but there's a reason why ref's call still exists in conjunction with it and it's a good one. It's why you'll hear the referee say "I have an opinion" to the video referee over the ref mic.

After watching the game again, I wish Hoffman jinked infield past Prince. I'm 99% sure he would have scored. Too bad on this occasion he pinned his ears back (which I prefer players do BTW ) and got cought by Tonga and fucked his leg up.
