Yep, he'll be a big loss. Always thought their premiership window was closing with Sammy, and to a lesser extent Te'o, moving on that 2014 was their last chance to win one for a while. Glenn Stewart isn't the solution either.
Roosters still play good without him, they'll be sweet. Just need to hold on the ball and they'll go undefeated next season.
Yeh was discussing their backrow last night with some mates. Losing Teo & Burgess is a lot of power and they haven't even gone close to replacing them. Their backrow next year will be made up of; Glenn Stewart, John Sutton, Kyle Turner, Chris Mcqueen & Jason Clark. They'll be a very different side next year, not sure if their premiership window has shut exactly but they'll need to reinvent themselves if they want to be there or there abouts next year.
Yeah Sutton and Stewart on the edges will make for a very different Souths side to the one we've been used to over the past few seasons. It doesn't mean it'll be worse, necessarily -- in some ways it'll be better -- but it'll certainly be very different in structure.
As little as I rate Glenn Stewart, if Grant and the other Burgess bros can go close to filling the void left by Sam, the added football on the right edge along with Sutton on the left may make for an even more dangerous Souths attack. The combination of the brothers Stewart at Manly was lethal. Enter Inglis. On the other hand, Reynolds isn't a ball player's arsehole and if Stewart continues his rot then their right edge could turn into a prominent weakness whereby they don't have the sort of power that Te'o offered, and they don't even subsidise said lack of power with creativity. They'll still play a highly power-based, simple style of footy though, I think. That's what won them the premiership.
