EP won't be anywhere near as good next season even if Queensland remain in as Victoria provide all the attack for the side and there isn't really any other Premier League standard strikers from the other provinces at present. Which way Queensland go will really shape what the Provincial Cup is like next season though. If they got solo it'll probably be something like (this isn't the exact order I'm predicting more the groupings): New Zealand England New South Wales . . Asia Victoria Queensland Emerging Provinces If they stay with EP then it'll be more like: New Zealand England New South Wales Emerging Provinces . . Asia Victoria
What would Emerging Provinces even consist of in that event? Celts and random provinces that don't even exist on CS like Western Australia and South Africa? You'd almost be better off just collapsing it, running a British Isles side and letting the few others play for their nearest suitable fits, like the PC in CricSim. I know you're quite keen on your EP thing though.
British Isles in Soccer just isn't happening... The main reason I was putting in sides like Western Australia, South Africa and South Australia was because you granted them "associate" status and I thought I'd be quite good for those provinces to at least be recognised somewhere. Also changing international or for the purposes of CricSim provinces isn't something that is done in football/soccer, whereas it is something that happens in Cricket and Rugby. While EP dominated this season it was never the intention for it to necessarily be a strong side, it was really just for somewhere for people whose provinces does not yet have enough to stand alone to play together. Although as I was typing this I just thought about what happens when/if CP break away from it eventually. I may well have to have a re-think if Queensland do break away. I'll cross that bridge if it comes to it I suppose.
Well you could just refuse to acknowledge Celtic Provinces as a possible SoccerSim rep team and leave them in Emerging Provinces until they could actually break away as Scotland, Ireland or Wales separately, I suppose. I don't imagine that'd be too different to your stance on not having a British Isles team.
So I got the numbers all completely up to date and they are as follows: England - 26 (This includes Reframe, as he said he has South England connections) New South Wales - 24 Asia - 23 New Zealand - 23 Victoria - 20 ------------------------ Queensland - 14 Celtic Provinces - 12 So above the line indicates the provinces is good to go in terms of numbers. Reckon with a push both QLD and CP could get enough players to have a team.
Queensland and Celtic Provinces failed to meet the requirements for an individual side. I'm just going to stick with Emerging Provinces for them as a combined side. I like having an even number of teams so there is no bye and hopefully in the future they can have enough to go solo. Will do the fixtures and get a thread up shortly.
Provinces will need to sort out selectors, everyone bar Victoria currently has one so if that person no longer wants to do it the province will need someone else to do it. The selectors currently are: Emerging Provinces - Callum New Zealand - Escath England - Prez New South Wales - Hunter Asia - Cevno Victoria -
Southwestern Provinces have also been added into the Emerging Provinces, which covers South Africa, South Australia and Western Australia. As this province will be coming into effect in CricSim I would rather move these people now than be constantly changing the official provinces squads every season. It does mean the Emerging Provinces squad does get stronger, however it still shouldn't be as over powered as it was last season. I'll post up a thread with all the provincial squad lists just so all the selectors are certain who they actually have to select from.
