Provincial Championship Round 1: New South Wales vs New Zealand and ROW

AJ Izzett makes a nice throw to the middle of the NZ lineout. Davis knocks it down with perfection and Jennings take it. He throws a nice pass to Scoble who calls the move. Taylor darts into action and cuts inside. He was used as a dummy runner brilliantly by Scoble there. Weaver makes a lovely little shimmy there and has completely bamboozled Herd. WEAVER HAS BROKEN THE LINE AND HE IS ON A LOVELY RUN. BUT THERE ARE 2 NSW PLAYERS COMING IN TO COVER. K Fung makes a brilliant last ditch tackle which has left Weaver without any support. And AJ James has completed the turnover for NSW. Very unlucky after a very good run from Weaver. But Cribb has passed it back to AD Hunt who has made a big clearance to put the ball deep into the NZ half. Izett has made another good throw and Denton has claimed it at the front. After a while of being in a maul, Jennings clears the ball and has decided to go blind. CB Darts has only one man to beat...Lovely tackle that was from AM Farhat. He whisped out any chance of a try there. NZ still have the ball and Jennings has passed back to Scoble to put an up and under up. Taylor gets to the ball well, but it beaten to it by Herd. Herd has gone around the crowd of players, and as the ref calls last play starts speeding up. He makes about 25 meters which is a very solid effort, but is eventually tackled into touch. At half time the score is 7-0 to NSW.

BC Jacobs has come on for AJ James at half time, and BG Herd has moved to 14, with SM Green moving to 13 and Jacobs slotting in at 12. J Torres has also come on for MP Chung to play at flanker. DRP Taylor has made the kick, and I am sure he will be happy with that one. It has swayed slightly in the breeze but is eventually taken by A Kolar. He forms a maul with Burridge and Armstrong playing a massive part in driving NSW forward here. Cribb makes the call, and his backs spring into action. Hunt receives the ball and chips it over the top, with Herd running on at blistering pace. HERD HAS GOT THE BALL AND IS THROUGH THE NZ LINE. HE HAS 20 METRES TO GO AND HE HAS ONLY ONE MAN ANYWHERE NEAR HIM. TRYYYYYYYY FOR HERD! HE HAS MANAGED TO GET IT DOWN IN THE CORNER! LOVELY PLAY FROM HUNT, CRIBB AND HERD THERE. Farhat just misses the kick, but the New South Welshman, have a new found confidence and I can’t seem them losing from here. But DRP Taylor keeps his head up and runs back to the half way to take the kick. He puts a magnificent kick up and gives his forwards alot of chances to get there. The ball bobbles once, and Davis has got to it! Lovely take from him. He also manages to make a few yards before being chopped down by the NSW defense. Scoble puts a nice chip over the top, but Fung takes it and smashes it straight back to them. That is a lovely kick and NZ will be on the back foot here, even if it is there lineout.
