dont think pires should be pick of the round for round 3 tbh.

also veri had first pick of the whole thing, so he hardly done well to pick ronaldo.

    they're my brief thoughts

Who did you think was round 3 best pick mate?

I loved watching Pires play, thought he was world class for Arsenal

Concerning Ronaldo, I never said Veri did well, just an easy decision with him being the best player to play in the Premiership IMO

I actually gave credit to Alex for picking up Henry

Ronaldo probably had the highest peak in the league, but his career isn't the best of anyone in the league IMO.

All about opinions and to be honest, you can argue the case about plenty of round one picks

Keane was the best captain and one of the best CM's, could've easily gone for him

    Anyway, cunts should get voting...

I'll probably stop taking votes in about 4 days so we'll get a winner on probably Wednesday

id say drogba was the best pick in round 3. but it was a difficult round to pick a stand out player imo

I found round 6 hard to pick because I did't think they were a stand out pick

I really am tempted by McGrath's idea of a H2H competition...

    Thoughts?

I was going to do a worst selection but thought that would've been harsh :p

Thoughts on this people before members start voting?

  12. Baxter MJ Deane

Having Gallas as the worst is harsh. Played for one of the top Premiership sides for 11 seasons

  13. Riddy JH Ridd

    yeah go for it.

  14. Riddy JH Ridd

do yours as well. just out of interest.

Don't know but i tend to rate longevity more in these things compared to peaks.

My worst picks of the rounds:

Round 1 - Van Der Sar

It was always going to pick a bad first round pick but did think VDS could've been picked up later

    Round 2 - Hart

I know he's been a solid 'keeper for a few years now, in fact one of the best, but just like VDS, someone who I believe could've been picked up later on

    Round 3 - Bale

It sounds like I've repeating myself but someone who I believe could've been picked up later, don't think he's been good enough for a round 3 pick

    Round 4 - Leboeuf

Hard one to pick this round because I don't think any of the picks were bad at all. Just believe Leboeuf could've gone under the radar and to be honest, never really rated him that highly

    Round 5 - Suarez

Not done enough to be selected as a round 5 pick in my opinion

    Round 6 - Bruce

I thought his better years were before the Premiership? Anyway it was a hard round to pick a bad player.

    Round 7 - Hislop

You just have to look at the 'keepers selected after him and I believe all were better than him. Also plenty of 'keepers who were not selected were better

    Round 8 - Warnock

I know LB was a position where people had problems with but don't think Warnock has shown enough through his career to make a starting 11.

    Round 9 - Bramble

Really shouldn't have made a team, never mind round 9. So many better CB's were available.

    Round 10 - Gascoigne

Might seem harsh to include Gazza but this is a Prem draft and sadly he wasn't as good in the Premiership compared to his prime.

    Round 11 - Evans

Another CB who really should've been selected. So many better options available

    Round 12 - Hiddink

I know he had some success as Chelsea manager but was only there for 6 months and we're judging them on their Premiership career

I've decided to go for Eddie's team because I like that he's decided to go for a settle formation and balanced team

No one is out of position and I think it's a strong team

Chris has some great players but I think it's too attack minded with only 3 CB's and one DM in Butt, that team would score goals with so many attacking players but would struggle at the back even with Vidic

  18. mouse MJ Edwards

Undecided if I should change it from 24 hours to 12 hours, I know with the different time zones etc people might not have the opportunity to vote but I do believe 24 hours might be too long

    Thoughts?

  19. Cevno IV Narang

Chris's team would be better if had a LB instead of Kewell, and even played If it meant playing Keane on the right wing.

As it is though Chris lacks Fullbacks or wingers who are defensively good + has 2 CB's who haven't done it in prem for long enough or are inconsistent. Lots of scope to exploit there even though probably Eddie's team isn't the best to do it with his 2 DM's and 2 wingers who both like to cut in.

Man to Man i'd pick Chris because Eddie's team is a bit lacking in certain positions too. But that formation and the players in it is a drawback.

Do 2 rounds together for 24 hours and have some sort of mercy rule for obvious rounds. If it is too much a drawn out affair people will lose interest.

Or maybe you could have seperate threads altogether for the first round and have a poll vote + seperate discussion on each battle for 24 hours, if you want to do it even quicker?
