    Would any club actually benefit from signing Bowen? I don't think that he's said definitively that he's retiring. The issue is that he's not the kind of person that would push his experience onto a group. You'd want to be pushing for a premiership next year if you signed him.

    Workload in defence for a half is a myth as far as I'm concerned. The only time it becomes a thing is when they're targeted and targeting one player will more often than not kill the attacking structure of the side doing it as it's not natural for them.

    I think it's less the workload and more the fact that you have to put your body on the line a few more times, especially on your own tryline. To be fair though surely that's easier and less scary than catching bombs or trying to bring a grubber out from your own in goal and getting smashed.
