Stupid PI dumb cunts. They all want to move Coote to 5/8 so Penrith can utilise Gordon at fullback (which is fine by me and I would be happy to see how it goes) but then when someone asks where to put Burns they are all suggesting he plays lock. Why the hell would you play him at lock? 1) He isn't big enough. 2) Just because he hogs the ball doesn't mean he is good at running, he can barely make a line-break on the fringes let alone up the middle. 3) Just because he can defend better than Walsh doesn't mean he would be a good lock. To top it all off, they want to move Lewis to second row restricting him to one side of the field. It is just ludicrous. Want to know my suggestion? Drop the shunt to Windsor. All he does is add aggression to the side and a never-say-die attitude which Lachlan Coote possesses as well. So frustrating.
You want Burns. If he could actually stick his tackles, he could be your Dallas Johnson-esque lock, unfortunately he can't, there's no where to play him. I think MF has spoken about the potential to use him at centre. I imagine he'd have fairly abysmal service but maybe he could provide a bit of energy off the bench into dummy half. Seluini is better than him anyway so there really isn't a spot for him.
Exactly. There is no spot for him. Windsor is the only place. Centres could have a little credit but our centres currently are doing fine and there is no reason to change them around.
I remember saying back in 06 or 07 or something that Burns should play lock for QLD. I was fucken retarded.
I can't talk. I said Burns would be Lockyer's replacement for QLD before he joined the Cowboys. Man has he gone down hill. You'd think playing with Thurston would've helped him. He needs a very particular type of half but more importantly, a particular type of hooker I think.
Yeah Burns has been a massive disappointment. Many good judges thought he was going to be a special player and he's not even first grade standard. It's hardly due to lack of opportunity or circumstance either; he's just crap.
I'm convinced he should be playing centre. He's not a creator's arsehole and when he didn't have the attacking responsibility of a ball player and was asked to defend at right centre, he was quite good. His best asset is his ball running and grassing defence. I'd give him a run at centre.
I'm with you on that. Burns has had his problems in the past, but I honestly think that he has been one of the few consistent players at the Panthers for the past two seasons.
