  1. Mousey AJ Son

1 credit for my own identity

I would much rather Howe had Mouseys identity. If hes mafia thats useful and if hes town then Mousey has nothing to lose by Howe purchasing it

  3. Uppercut CB Faldo

Yeah let Howe have it imo.

How about we have less of the Escath is superior bullshit?

There would have been a lynch today if you hadn't changed your mind.

    10 credits for Mousey's identity

Also if I have information the maf might decide it's worth it to keep trying to kill me, which would be funny

  6. Escath LE Schaw

It's not me thinking I'm superior. It's just the indecisiveness and flimsy bandwagon voting that some people are getting away with.

And no, it was 8 to Farhat, 9 to Arheiner. My vote mattered little in the end.

  7. Escath LE Schaw

I also made that statement because I knew the deadline had already passed and we were already stuck with the no lynch.

It turns out Farhat was much more revealing with his role claim than Arheiner's "I don't want to reveal anything since I'll be less useful if I did" even though being lynched (which was a real possibility at the time of his claim) would make him infinitely less useful than if he just told us what he did.

  8. BoyBlunder BOY Blunder

Except he wasnt lynched so it worked in his favour

  9. Escath LE Schaw

That's what I'm criticising. It's something anyone can say and if we let them get away with it nobody needs to put any effort into claiming.

But then on the other hand if you have a power the pkayet base might not find convincing youre pretty fucked from the start. The issue here wasnt not following through with Arheiner's lynch it was not starting the process until 24 hrs were up and wed lost half our time

This is why I don't think we should have fixed day deadlines. Deadlines should be used to keep the game moving and if there is already sufficient discussion players should be able to continue the discussion freely

I disagree entirely, as mafia Deadlines are a part of the game plan. Even in that day cycle we might have seen good mafia play to draw us to inaction.

I just don't think 48 hours are long enough to scumhunt + force a majority without immediate hard info., especially in a game this big

  14. Escath LE Schaw

It is so, so much easier for "good" mafia play to draw inaction than it is for "good" town play to draw action, particularly with a game of this size where you have a lot of people who aren't typically mafia players or are usually quiet. A majority, even mixed in with mafia, with the natural numbers of inactive players is hard enough. Put in the fact that one, you have a deadline of 48 hours or whatever and two, the majority will probably need to be town driven for it be successful and you're already putting town at a huge disadvantage.

Even if there was no fixed deadline you are really only balancing the odds when it comes to this aspect of play. A "good" mafia play could still cause discussion to die down, leading to an eventual deadline, but the status quo shouldn't just be that you can wait out a fixed period of time as mafia; both sides should need to at least try to steer the discussion in their favour. Put into the context of a 48 hour fixed deadline it is all too easy for mafia to not contribute at all as there will naturally be enough townies who can't contribute because they don't have the time to keep up and formulate their thoughts in that 48 period. However, if the deadline wasn't fixed then the townies who are contributing may keep the discussion long enough for it be to expected that everyone should be able to contribute something with any mafia choosing not to participate able to be called out on.

Na, town has easily enough time to do something. Removing fixed deadlines is just poor.

Town leaders need to step up and push for the lynch votes, it's early enough in the game that people have been waiting for reports to roll in. I don't see that continuing going on.

  16. Escath LE Schaw

48 hours is barely enough to give people a chance to vote let alone to give people a chance to discuss who to vote for.

Just say "no, it's enough" doesn't make it enough.

  17. Athlai JJD Heads

Yeah because all of the other massive mafia games that used a 48 hour time limit didn't work either eh?

Keeping people interested in a game before it meanders out is also pretty important.

There's more than one reason for limiting the days to 48 hours. It would be good to have the game completed this side of Christmas. In fact, it would be lovely to get this done by 6th December, otherwise there's going to have to be a break of 2-3 weeks.

And on that note, GET YOUR NIGHT ORDERS IN!

  19. Escath LE Schaw

Why are nights allowed to go over the 24 hours but days aren't allowed to go over 48 hours then? :p

  20. HeathDavisSpeed HT Davis

Well, given how few night orders I've received this'd be an awfully shit game if I was so intransigent.
