Schneiderlin would be a good signing. Top 3 holding mid in the premier league along with Matic and Coquelin imo. United played some of their best football last season when they had Carrick in that holding role dictating the tempo. It's not the same with Blind playing that role and with Luke Shaw out (he's still not fit yet right?) Blind is needed at LB - prefer him to Rojo there.

Still need a strong CB though and Valencia at RB isn't a sight that fills me with a lot of confidence. VDW is too much of a liability as he gets caught going forward a lot, would much prefer Aurier.

This. BS is a mammoth footballer and would walk into 99% of football squads' starting line ups with ease.

Clyne is solid and I reckon can be trained out of his one or two minor flaws. In Southampton they played a strong wide attacking game since they lacked a decent striker to play long straight balls to through the middle. Their pattern needed both Clyne and Bertrand to play high up the field most of the time and they were greatly effective - the two of them can be accredited with a very large portion of Sthmptn's success last season. I personally just don't see him in the current United setup, he doesn't seem to fit the bill. But, for 15mil, he might have been worth it.

Clyne has had one really good season but has looked better than he is because of the quality of cb and dm southampton have had. Hea definitely in the england side on merit though and is more than handy going forward.

Id rate him as highly as Coleman. Clyne had the better season but Coleman has done it for an extra season. Definitely a good signing at 12.5 mill imo

Yeah, pretty much what others had said, young, got ability, but still a bit flawed, but for £12.5m its well worth a punt. Better than Valencia anyway, who is now got to the point it just fucks me off every time I see him on the pitch.

LvG would sort out Clyne's flaws too.

  6. cpr CP Raftery

I daresay he would. Certainly more than Brendan could, makes it even more disappointing we've not had a sniff around him. I'm presuming we'd rather not mess up a Schneiderlin deal by going after another of their players too.

Going slightly off the topic, but thinking of ironing out Clyne's flaws made me think what we could do with is a good mentor for our defenders, an ex pro with knowledge of the club and the respect of all in it, maybe someone recently retired looking to do their coaching badges....

... Rio, come home, we miss you...

BBC now saying we've put in a £28.6m bid for Ramos.... Hmmmmm.

  8. BoyBlunder BOY Blunder

Seems a bit low to me.

I can't see Ramos leaving Spain. Would be an awesome signing though!

  10. Uppercut CB Faldo

Does he speak English? Tough to play the experienced CB if not.

  11. Riddy JH Ridd

if he comes to the prem, im deffo going to OT next season

  12. MightyPies DA Alessi

I think he can speak a little bit of English, not sure if it's perfect but

  13. BoyBlunder BOY Blunder

According to SSN's Graham Hunter Ramos has told Madrid he wants to leave and will only talk to United. These are the kind of articles i like to read

  14. Uppercut CB Faldo

Hunter is very reliable so I don't think there's any doubt that Ramos said that, but he could still just be posturing for better wages.

Ofc but with a €40mill offer on the cards it seems a possibility at least. Before i was certain itd never happen

  16. Riddy JH Ridd

i still dont think it will happen :(

  17. BoyBlunder BOY Blunder

Yeah wel see. I could definitely see a De Gea plus cash swap happen

  19. cpr CP Raftery
