Not true. It's the fact it was v the Cows who are a close 2nd team for a lot of us. If it was any other side I'd be shattered. Strangely I was more upset over that finals loss to the Storm a few years back when Sims dropped it in the final minute.
This is exactly what I mean. Qld Rugby League fans first and club fans second. I'm not calling you out, or saying it's wrong, but it is what it is.
Lol at people saying this was the greatest grand final ever. 89 called and said hello, and also 99,97,90 etc.
Think that's a bit unfair tbh Taylor. What you say definitely applies to me. I care way more about Origin than club footy but that doesn't apply for everyone.
And it's because there isn't much history in the Qld clubs because all of the historical teams play in reserve grade now. We've been over this before.
Yeah I think they're all in a different category tbh. Preferring to lose to another QLD side doesn't make you less of a club fan. I think QLDers in general just care more about the Tweed River division between our two states.
Don't think the Raiders have much more history than Brisbane tbh. It's nothing to do with that IMO. It's because we hate NSW. And the Cowboys are a very likeable team; they're the little brother side for a lot of people.
You said there isn't much history in the QLD clubs. That's just not true for the Broncos, nor the Cowboys really. Telling Jaz he's a QLD fan first rather than a Broncos fan is a bit unfair I think.
Depends on where you're reading or who you're talking to tbh. On this site there are a few fence sitters like MF.....elsewhere, Bronco fans are devastated.
I wasn't on the fence. I wanted Nth QLD to win. I'd happily go another 50 years without the Cows or Bronce winning it if it meant QLD winning Origin next year though.
Taumalolo was superb. When the Cows were struggling to go forward he kept putting his hand up and ran like a bull with its arse on fire.
I have to admit initially I was a bit pissed at Bennett's grand final replay remarks. Its fine if he's against golden point but to suggest replaying the game like they did in an AFL decider years back is absurd.
Agreed. Late in the game he made a bunch of crucial runs in some really fatigue-affected sets where the Cowboys looked a little lost. Just straight and hard up the guts to get some momentum going.
Yeah, ridiculous idea. Personally, I am fine with golden point but they have GOT to get rid of this 7 tackle bullshit. My preferred tie-breaker is 5 minutes each way. Whoever's leading after that wins. If still drawn then they play golden point for as long as it takes. People who pay for a ticket to this match deserve to see a result.
