Filler Mafia 7: Game Thread

i wasnt even in the kitchen i asked if arheiner had oplayed maf before because he has just come from a 2 year exile.

 

bandwagoning? no one else has mentioned arhiener so how can it be bandwagoning you moron.

 

Now I'm back at my computer, I can make a proper post, outlining the reason why Riddy is clearly mafia.

1. To the untrained eye, this might just seem like a banal comment. Luckily though, I've played a few mafia games in my time and know a little about scumhunting. What we see here is Riddy trying to ascertain if arheiner is a new mafia player. As a member of the mafia, this would allow him to take advantage of arheiner's inexperience and shift blame/focus onto him, or try to force him to vote in the way Riddy would like him to.

However, Riddy is no slouch. He knows that this would be an obvious mafia move, and so someone who was a member of the mafia wouldn't use it. Which is why he's using it. It's a concept called bluffing, for those of you who aren't aware.

But why stop there. Maybe both areheiner and Riddy are mafia, and this is a cunning ploy to put confusion into the game from an early stage. Now, obviously that's a low probability idea, but if you were mafia, wouldn't you be taking these low probability ideas?

2. After being accused we see some rushed messages, emphasised by the poor use of grammar/punctuation. This is because he feels he needs to respond quickly to this accusation. A delay might mean that he's taken time to think of a response as to why he's not guilty, whereas if he were town-sided, he'd have one already.

3. The use of smilies and the general lack of response to the claims made so far in the thread, suggests he has no valid response to the accusations, and is just trying to shift focus away from himself. This is a strategy often used by the mafia, hoping the focus will go onto someone else. However, I don't intend to let that happen. My full focus will be on Riddy, until he is brought to justice.

4. Nobody has tried to defend Riddy. If the accusations are somewhat dubious, then mafia will often weigh in to try and save one of their own. We see no one supporting Riddy here. Clearly the other members of the mafia can see that the town are aware that he's mafia, and don't want to risk outing themselves on a hopeless rescue mission.

5. Only someone in dire trouble would call for divine intervention at this stage. Clearly mafia.

back to my original question... does anyone know how much mafia arhiener has played before?
