Because it's fucking Harbhajan, must have been off my head on something when I made that pick. Keeping it tight and lacking penetration>>>>bowling pies, getting tonked and picking up all your wickets caught at long on. In reality Botha, Ellis and any of the 3 reserve bats (Bopara 5th bowler) have a chance at the No.7 spot, depending on how the trials go. Also have a sneaking suspicion Permaul is easily my best spinner and might be sneakily good in this, that's probably just a desperation thought at how dire my spin situation is though.
Yeah I thought the reason for selecting Botha ahead of him was because he didn't trust Harby to bat 7. But if he thinks they'll average the same with the bat... I think I'd bring Harbhajan in for Botha and then bring Ellis in for one of the specialist seamers. Ellis can bat 7 then so the tail doesn't start so early, and he'd still have four seamers and a frontline spinner.
