    No, Australia is now in the Asian confederation, not Oceania, which makes New Zealand the best team in Oceania when they have to play the likes of Vanuatu and Solomon Islands.

    one of the island nations beat nz recently

    maybe when aus was still part of ocenaia, cause i think yeah it was them vs aus to playoff to be the team to face Uruguay iirc

    NZ only beat them 2-1 in the last minute of a recent game, Vanuatu also beat NZ in 2004. Fiji beat NZ as well last year.

    Okay, so people (like Fiji) can beat NZ but I don't think they would be able to do it on a regualr basis as so to beat us and progress to the Confeds Cup

    Hosts [South Africa]
    Champions of Europe [Spain]
    Champions of Africa [Egypt]
    Champions of Asia [Iraq]
    Champions of Oceania [New Zealand]
    Champions of North America [USA]
    Champions of South America [Brazil]
    World Cup winners [Italy]

    Iraq won the 2007 Asian Cup by beating Saudi Arabia 1-0 in the Final.

    They got there by beating Australia, and then drawing with Thailand and Oman to come first in Group A.

    They then beat Vietnam 2-0 in the quarter-finals, and then beat South Korea 0-0 (4-3 on penalties) in the semi-final to reach the final.

    The biggest ever scoreline in a FIFA-sanctioned match was Australia 31-0 win over American Samoa.

    I daresay if Vanuatu ever make the Confederations Cup and are forced to play the likes of Spain, Italy or Brazil, the score may be much higher...
