You underestimate how much of a draw Manchester United are.

Like I said, RvP made the move. Him being foreign is irrelevant, he moved to Arsenal when he was 20 and grew up at the club. Yet he still jumped at the chance to win trophies. Arsenal's 8 years and counting dry spell doesn't help us, but in the last 20 years there's been a few flashes in the pan and one team who consistently wins trophies year in, year out. Throw in a great manager and great team-mates, you'd seriously struggle to find a player in the Premier League who would respond to an approach by Manchester United with "nah, I'd prefer to stay where I am, thanks".

You want the best example of a player moving to Man Utd? Rio Ferdinand. At a big club who were chock full of the top young talent in the country, when United came calling he didn't think twice, despite the fact he was at Leeds and it wouldn't be a popular move. Or Wayne "once a blue always a blue" Rooney; the fact he was a dyed in the wool Evertonian didn't stop him jumping to Manchester either.

 

Rooney was badly advised by Stretford.

I'm a fan of the Bundesliga, but even at the leagues current high point, it's hard to look at how a side can challenge Bayern next year.

 

Well, you'd have thought that when Bayern reached the Champions League final in 2010 - yet Dortmund won the next 2 titles despite having fuck all in the way of resources compared to Bayern (Dortmund's wage bill is actually lower than Aston Villa's).

The Bundesliga is surprisingly competitive when you look at the massive financial advantage Bayern Munich have.

However, I agree with you. Dortmund have shit squad depth, not helped by losing their best players every fucking year.

 

Has to be, they're not going to give away millions of euros in revenue.

 

Rojas signed for Stuttgart
