But there's something really wrong with Melbourne. Well not wrong, just very uncharacteristic. Their attack lacks polish and execution. And their defence is unusually ineffective compared to previous years.

 

What's going on here? Are the Storm running a junior-rugby 'convert your own try' policy?

 

Cameron Munster's position on shifts is way off. He's way too wide and too deep. It's screwing up every left side play.

 

I don't understand what the Storm are doing on the left edge. Everything on that edge has been flat, short-side plays, which is perfect for the Warriors given that they've got Harris standing out there. They need to set up a big shift down that side to get everyone moving. The Warriors have a debutant centre and Adam Blair on that edge - something is going to give the second they have to make a defensive read.

 

Will Chambers must have the record for "Most worthless kicks on 3rd tackle" of any centre in the history of the game.

I don't know if this is an ongoing issue or not but it doesn't seem like Smith rates Croft. He's barely got his hands on the ball at all.
