There's been quite a lot made in the media here about how this has been the best world cup ever. How far from the truth would you say that is?
I feel like it has been dragged out and taken interest away from it. It was pretty enjoyable when the games were coming thick and fast but the large breaks have made me lose interest. I know actual league fans would lose interest less quickly but I feel having the finals at weekends only has dragged it out too long.
Knock a week off the end and it would have been better imo. Still really keen for this though, going to OT to watch it.
How? No-one has got within a donkey's dick of threatening the big three. It's been almost farcical. I guess it could be the best ever, the only thing that sticks in my mind about the last cup is the final. I think New Zealand will win this weekend. They're a bunch of blokes who clearly like playing together and I think Australia might be a bit soft after a total lack of competition for four weeks.
3.55 for NZ is pretty generous. I'm fairly confident Australia will win though. Even against terrible opposition, I've liked our shape. Defensively we could be better and will need to be. Ball control is obviously highly important. The only time we've really looked ordinary was in the opening 25 against England and that was mostly of our own doing. Since then we've been clinical. We have NZ beaten across the park; forwards, halves, backs, bench. They're a dangerous side but I don't rate them defensively and I just think we have too many points in us. Our only real concern in defence is an untested Hayne but he should be okay as long as he stays on his man. Then again, easier said than done.
"It's something I'll have to talk to him about but at this stage I think he's a lot harder to handle at fullback," Arthur said yesterday. "No disrespect to the opposition, but they (Australia) won 62-0 and then 64-0 so he hasn't had to do too much defence out there. "A centre in the NRL has to do a fair bit in defence which takes away your energy in attack." At least Arthur's shown signs of a working brain.
NZ are a variable side... it depends which one shows up on the day... we could lose by 30 points or win by 10.
I think it's more lose by 30 points or lose by 10 points. NZ could play at their best and it wont matter if Australia don't play like shit. Seriously the 2008 and that win in 2010 has deluded alot of you. Australia are by far the superior team.
