    I'm guessing it's because 2 victorian teams made the AFL Grand Final, so there was no reason for interstate viewers to watch if they weren't AFL fans. Bu alot of victorians tuned into see Storm win.

    MORE than 2.5 million Australians tuned it to see Melbourne's premiership triumph over Parramatta - making it the most watched NRL grand final in three years.

    An average national audience of 2.523 watched the the Storm's 23-16 win yesterday, with the audience peaking at 3.095 million, according to figures from the Nine Network.

    The audience was up about half a million viewers on last year's decider, and it was the highest rating NRL grand final since Brisbane's triumph over Melbourne in 2006 when 2.533 million watched.

    The largest audiences for the Storm and Eels showdown were in Sydney, where just over 1.16 million watched, followed by Melbourne (682,000) and Brisbane (563,000).

    It came short of last month's AFL grand final, which is the highest rating sports event of the year, with an average of about 2.8 million viewers.

    It's all averages from small focus groups anyway. They could be way, way off.

    I don't know how people pay any attention to them.

    They'd be tracking 500k people nationwide max.

    Nah they have actual tracking devices or machines or whatev in certain houses in Australia that is aimed to cover different social/ethnographical groups etc. I said 500k max but itd be a lot less than that. They'd have rich white people in double bay, poor black ****s in redfern, fobs in western suburbs etc. It's all an educated projection.

    I was in a massivemess thenight of this. Playing king of beers between the NYC and NRL GF's left me struggling. Drunk3/4's of a carton of VB by full timeplus we were drinking jose cuervo. Good times.
