But that's just it, if they're not comparable players, how is the situation comparable? We had one golden son who was our best ever halfback, and then a long line of barely FG standard halves. That's not the situation for NSW. They have a huge reservoir of FG standard halves, none of whom have hitherto kicked on at rep level.

Langer going overseas is an anomaly IMO.

How is that relevant though? He was still infinitely better than Mitchell Pearce at that age. The standard retiring age doesn't apply to some players. Lockyer, Civoniceva and etc.

I always like Mason when he played origin. Seemed to lift for the occasion. From what I've seen of him lately I reckon he'd still offer something decent.

I always liked what I read from Mason come origin time.

  7. Julian BJ Taylor

tll is probably back in contention for bench prop as well. was always good when he played.

He bizarrely fell out of favour when Stuart took over and then went through a period of quiescence at the Raiders. A shame. I can't even see him making City/Country this year.

NSW would be stupid not to pick freeMason. He's going to prepare for the biggest game of his life.

Judging on his previous performances at SOO level and his recent for you'd have to imagine that he'd have to be in the mix.

The comment above that was even better.

Apparently Ryan James is a bolter for the NSW side.

All the talk in the media is about who NSW are going to pick at five-eighth now that Carney is injured. How long is Carney out for?

Two weeks lol. He'll be sweet.

I'll put it this way - if they think Mullen is good enough to come into contention even though Carney is fit to play just because he hasn't proven his form over the opening rounds with enough games or whatever, then they should definitely think he's good enough to play halfback ahead of Pearce - which they don't. So Carney should be a walk up hobble up start.

5000 votes on the DT poll and 75% want Reynolds. That has more to do with Pearce's failures than Reynolds's ability IMO.

Or the type of fans the DT attracts...

The amount of articles they're spitting out lately about the halves is ridiculous. It's like they've totally glossed over the fact Daley has come out and said that Pearce will be his halfback.

I'd be more interested in them trying to dig up something on who the who will be in the backline & forward pack. Given Daley's comments the spine's already a foregone conclusion.

The type of fans the DT attracts - What, general RL fans?
