    More than likely that the people voting didn't really see Schmeichel in his prime which was like 15 odd years ago so that's why people probably went with VDS, the fact that he's been Man Utd number one goalkeeper in the past 5 odd season will play a factor as well.

    I'll stick my neck out and say in 5 years time, if they did the same poll then VDS won't be number one

    Lol if anyone thinks VDS is the greatest ever Man Utd keeper. Schmeichel was so much better and it's not even close.

    Ye, if DG stays as our keeper fo his career and actually raises to the potential hes expected to he will probably be the best in our history

    Schmichael was 8 years including the treble, so it is going to take a hell of a lot to beat it

    Yes, this is undoubtedly true. Not only is he the best Man Utd keeper in living memories, he's pretty much one of the best keepers of the 1990s. Van Der Sar wasn't even the best keeper in the Premiership at any time in which he played in it.
