In Germany obviously getting relegated is a big deal as it is anywhere across the world, but the teams are in a still very healthy financial position so it isn't as bad compared to say a team like Bolton/Wigan/Blackburn getting relegated in England who all have questionable finances already playing in the Prem.

I do know that the gap isn't anywhere near as big as the Prem. Bundesliga doesn't make a lot of money through TV rights etc, so gap is a lot smaller between 1.BL and 2.BL compared to Prem and Champo.

I'm not 100% sure on figures etc. But the chairman for my team [Kaiserslautern] said that relegation this season would set the club back at least 1.5 years to get close to the same financial point as they would with just one more season in the Bundesliga.
