Yeah there was no real reason to defend myself at the end there. Would have still needed like 2 or 3 nights to get the majority down and we would have gone through the rest of the dreamer list by then. I imagine Shri most likely would have killed me if I succeeded in getting town to turn on him anyway. And I assume Captain was roleblocking me on that last night? Had to pull the trigger and hope I could knock him off without Baxter watching him, otherwise I would have just been roleblocked and no kill = almost guaranteed suss lynch as well.
And I actually thought my logic to try and lure town into a RL on Baxter wasn't that 'out there' or overly suss. I do agree with whoever commented on Baxter's use of exclamation marks though. What was the deal with that?
@morgieb don't need to be beating yourself up too much about balance imo. Mafia had some bad luck e.g. Insane cop dying so early which probably cost a mislynch and reduced chance of the framer working, roleblocking Shri who has no ability two nights in a row, the baxter RL not going through at the last moment, Shri being saved from a lynch despite him weirdly not even trying to claim, Hunter's reports more or less seamlessly syncing with mine etc.
Yeah the inactivity at the start of the game made it really hard to try and read who were town power roles and who weren't. We went close enough that the balance wasn't a major issue you're right.
lol i was trying to get the mafia's attention by playing up my "special ability" and my initial plan was to take prez out even if i got lynched or whatever
given how quickly prez jumped on the lynch vote way back then i mean if he had waited a few minutes and posted after cap, i'd have killed cap 100%
Bit harsh to say I could have got out of it when Heef was essentially confirmed cop and Shri was seemingly clear too? That said it was a bit of a nothing game from me - ability didn't hit anything meaningful (not helped by dead insane cop) and the dreamer report essentially sealed our fate. Should have probably been more active in planning/making things happen. My grade is fair. Thanks for running the game Morgie.
Sorry Prez but you were so bad at the end I was compelled to message Morgie and laugh about it. From the outside the most obvious confirmation of captain’s theory was how you responded to it. Much love xx
Town was too powerful. 9v3 essentially with Howe siding with them and the majority being power roles. Mafia needed better roles too. Framer isn't really that great. A converter/yakuza would've been better.
I guess I went alright in pushing to not lynch Shri, who was pretty close to the edge, but to veer towards Prez instead. I had forgotten quite a bit about roles and the like in general. Hadn't even considered I could have been anything other than a standard cop - hence my surprise when the naive cop came up early doors. Probably helped to add weight to my role claim in the end, which was a benefit. I think Downes was better than Morgie's ratings and Captain maybe slightly lower. Downes flew low early on to avoid any targetting from the mafia contingent. Dreamer is an incredibly powerful role and one where you have to kind of avoid any town or mafia visiting you for the role to work. As such, I think Downes hit that to perfection. Captain's non-nursing on n0/n1 was decent quality play - easy to get carried away when you have a role to play. A little bit of luck after that, but overall the night-play was exceptional.
We were extremely suss on N11 as of day 2 when he was kind of toeing the middle ground between Baxter and myself. We were pretty sure he had a town power role at that point and I was on the verge of killing him that night. In the end Captain nursing me would have prevented the kill anyway, but still.
I was so hesitant to post my read even though I was 90% sure lol. Was contemplating witholding it to see how the Shri lynch played out. That would’ve been hilarious if Shri then used his ability to off me.
I knew I was pretty screwed when I got roleblocked. Was hoping you'd try and roleblock me again to confirm so we switched the kill to Prez, but alas no luck.
Lukic and AVA trying to make something out of nothing was annoying tstl. A little bit of suspicion is good in terms of ensuring you don’t get offed immediately but how they managed to turn it into almost a mislynch through sheer weight of BD was beyond me. Grateful for Howe and Heef and common sense.
Yeah the rest of town being inactive allowed for us to just pile on with random accusations and try for a RL.
Tbh, if it wasn't for everyone in town being a power role, it could easily have gotten through. No lynch is the obvious play when town is that powerful because unless we mislynched or maf played a perfect game and got lucky, ir would've been super difficult for town to lose.
