I find this whole discussion to be vacuous. I'm fed up with the attention being taken away from actual football and instead directed at fighting. I don't want to see fights in Origin. It's been done to death. These people who tune into the game purely to see a fight or think the games are boring unless there's biff, are disordered. I watch football to see football. I watch boxing to see a fight. The fights are terrible anyway. Most of them have no idea how to throw a punch, and it shows, and it's usually at some cunt who hasn't even shaped up. So yeah, I'm not going to help drag the talk away from the actual game any more. I've said my bit about this subject. It's boring as fuck IMO.
Well, I can't argue with that but I maintain that not everyone likes the biff. Me for example. My having a vagina is sort of predicated on it.
No. Just showing the contradiction in Gemmell's logic. People keep saying, everyone loves the biff. And it's simply not true.
And I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that the majority of you don't watch or know anything about boxing.
Don't mind the odd biff if it means my team gets fired up and plays better. But not all the time, I'll watch UFC if I want to see decent fighting.
I can't believe this is still being discussed. Merrin should have been sent off and Hodges should have got 10 in the bin and that should have been the end of it. At the end of the day, if Tate gets knocked out, Merrin goes. Just like if Nate goes down in game 1, Gallen would have been sent. Hopefully one of our blokes lie down in game three, or alternatively, knock one of the NSW cunts out.
I've really started to come around to the "if you start a brawl then you go for 10" idea. That would've just been Gallen in Game 1 and Merrin in Game 2. I would've been okay with that. If there's a stink on then other blokes are gonna get involved, you're never going to be able to stop that, but Gallen and Merrin both started shit.
The third man-in-notion is partially invalidated too. So what if a third guy runs in, as long as he doesn't start the violence. There's a thousand third-man-in instances when one of these "brawls" happens. And 99% of players show restraint. It's only when someone takes it upon himself to actually throw one that it really kicks off and it usually takes a pretty pathetic form like Merrin's or Gallen's. It's not a boxing ring, and players aren't protecting themselves at all times. You end up with cunts throwing punches to blokes who aren't expecting it and aren't even shaping up. And of course the teammates of the bloke on the receiving end are going to take exception, ala Hodges after Merrin punched Tate. Punish the instigator. As it stands Tate effectively got the same on-field punishment for retaliating to a bloke who hit him without warning. That's like your parents saying I don't care who started it. What a bullshit line that is. If you don't punch me in the fucking head then I'll try my best not to punch you in the fucking head. That's sort of the unspoken agreement each human being has with all others.
