Is it just me or has there been a lot more this year!? I thought they were likea really serious, less common injury. Yet after hearing Weyman did his ACL it reminded me so have many others this season. What's going on?
Wasn't there some strange surgery a few afl people tried using a synthetic acl which healed much faster?
Just interesting the increase, or perceived increase, this year. LARS. It's risky though, higher chance of re-injury.
Yea I know it is, and thankyou for the input - was teasing I don't think any of the RL players injured this year opted for the LARS surgery.
Yeah - LARS. Two guys - Rodan & Malceski have both had LARS, it's a 12 week recovery, and re-injured & had lars again. Looks like it only lasts for a few years they think - although 2 x 12 week injurys > a 45 week one.
I'm having an ACL reco in July and the estimated recovery is 12 weeks... Doesn't seem to be that much of an improvement Though that may be before I'm back to normal living not peak fitness for professional sport I guess
Luke Covell had one in 2010 iirc, the year he retired anyway. Wanted to come back as early as possible.
Yeah if you were a professional sportsman you'd be out for 9-12 months. With Lars the guys were running laps in 3-4 weeks
