And white is our worst ever IMO. Not a complete muppet but we'd have been better off just signing Jon green or Jesse royal on min wage and signing a competent hooker.

  2. Howsie DP Howell

lol, worst signing ever? 600K for what, one game in FG.

    For the Dogs:

    Andrew Emelio
    Daryl Millard
    Daniel Holdsworth
    Nick Youngquest
    Joe Williams
    Kris Keating
    Ben Czislowski

Czislowski being the shittest player I've ever seen play FG football.

The Millard signing didn't work out but it wasn't a terrible signing IMO.

  4. BMT BMT Con

Maybe if you're looking at it money wise, but I woul have him over Learoyd Lahrs and Tilse over the last 2 years. Especially last year when at times White was the only forward going forward. All the other buys I mentioned were the days when we had to pay overs for players, so in terms of value I consider them to be worst than White (has actually delivered What he was bought in to do for his price tag IMO).

Nothings stopping us from buying a hooker. We have spare cash for another outside back and supposedly, 3 hookers on the books we could easily release 2 of them to free up more cash, so the money is there I just don't think there have been that many great options out there over the last 2 years.

De gois and Kingston have changed clubs in that time.

Anyway it's irrelevant now. Now they have to rid themselves of Harrison and Waddell and sign ballin. Also have to throw out any notion of bringing back Monaghan unless it's mick.

  7. BMT BMT Con

Agree with moving Harrison and Waddell on. I would even go as far as releasing Buttriss too. It could then leave us some extra money for a more than decent back.

  8. Cribbage RG Cribb

Joel Monaghan would have to be three quarters of the way there to be the slowest prop in the game by now, surely?

  9. Cribbage RG Cribb

Rod Jensen still plays Queensland Cup when his club needs him; should bring him back too.

  10. Incey BC Jacobs

Rocket Rod and Bluey Southern! They are the definition of the Cowboys. >_>

Trying to think of some poor buys for Manly but none come to mind, at least in recent years. No doubt when they were the Northern Eagles there would have been a stack of them but I stopped following football during that debacle.
Scott Fulton always sticks in my mind as being extremely average which was odd considering how good his dad was. Only reason he played first grade IMO was because Bob Fulton was actually coaching them at the time.
Not sure if his services were paid for but I would certainly hope not.

  12. Howsie DP Howell

He was decent in his first season, 2007, but really dropped away after that year. Product of SBW really, struggled big time when he wasn't playing inside of him. Almost zero attacking ability.

    Josh Perry.

Despite being the subject of ridicule, I thought Josh Perry was a good player for Manly. I certainly wouldn't consider him to be money wasted.

    Chris Bailey

Ben Farrar was pretty shitty too. I don't even know what happened to him.

    Cowboys = Michael Bani

Wasn't he a straight swap for Michael Bani? Good value if so.

  19. Cribbage RG Cribb

He went to England. He actually came back this year - he's with Manly again - but he copped a season-ending injury really early in the season. Might've even been in the trials.

True you might be right. Fair enough buy then.
