Done in much the same way as the 6N draft from earlier in the year. You draft a XV of players you think will perform during the World Cup. My advanced* scoring system will reward them for points, metres and tackles and penalise them for misses, penalties and cards. *not very advanced you have as long as it takes me to fly to Sydney to sign up Players: Round 1: Vimes - Dan Carter Rego - Johnny Sexton Alex - Handre Pollard Weeman - Leigh Halfpenny Howe - George Ford Heef - Nicolas Sanchez Hurricane - Pat Lambie Round 2 Hurricane - Ben Smith Heef - Israel Folau Howe - Julian Savea Weeman - Ma'a Nonu Alex - Tevita Kuridrani Rego - Keiran Read Vimes - Louis Picamoles Round 3 Vimes - Heinrich Brussouw Rego - Dane Coles Alex - Michael Hooper Weeman - Aaron Smith Howe - Duane Vermuelen Heef - Richie McCaw Hurricane - Conrad Smith Round 4 Hurricane - Jesse Kriel Heef - David Pocock Howe - Willie Le Roux Weeman - Juan Imhoff Alex - Bryan Habana Rego - Jerome Kaino Vimes - Sonny Bill Williams Round 5 Vimes - Mike Brown Rego - Adam Ashley-Cooper Alex - Scott Fardy Weeman - Jamie Heaslip Howe - Chris Robshaw Heef - Brodie Retallick Hurricane - Milner Skudder Round 6 Hurricane - George North Heef - Wesley Fofana Howe - Paul O'Connell Weeman - Eben Etzebeth Alex - Bismarck du Plessis Rego - Will Genia Vimes - Pascal Pape Round 7 Vimes - Bryan Habana Rego - Sam Whitelock Alex - Johnny May Weeman - Ritchie Gray Howe - Conor Murray Heef - Alun Wyn Jones Hurricane - Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe Round 8 Hurricane - Sam Warburton Heef Howe Weeman - Alex - Rego - Vimes Round 9 Vimes Rego Alex Weeman Howe Heef Hurricane Round 10 Hurricane Heef Howe Weeman - Alex - Rego - Vimes Round 11 Vimes Rego Alex Weeman Howe Heef Hurricane Round 12 Hurricane Heef Howe Weeman - Alex - Rego - Vimes Round 13 Vimes Rego Alex Weeman Howe Heef Hurricane Round 14 Hurricane Heef Howe Weeman - Alex - Rego - Vimes
There's better stats out there for comps now. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/rugby/statscentre.cfm? Go down the bottom and there's stats for every player. No doubt they'll do the same for the RWC Also in.
We'll run with that. Anyone else who wants to join can add themselves to the end of the first round of picks. Round 1 order: Vimes Rego Alex Weeman Howe Heef Hurricane Two notes before you draft: 1) Not that long to get this done so please be expedient. PMing a pick or two ahead of time is one way to do that. If you don't trust me to not steal picks from your PMs I advise you PM Vimes instead. 12 hours before a skippin' 2) Last time the injuries rule caused skiffles. So I'm saying no replacements this time. If you get an injury then tough.
points, metres and tackles Dane Coles would be a premier pick by this system. I won't pick him but will pick guys who your system will reward,
Two quick rules just in case: > You name you kicker and only they get penalty + conversion points. Everyone can get other points, including for drop goals > Don't take the piss with selection in general, e.g. picking 6 fullbacks for the metres. You can have a look at the spreadsheet in the other thread if you want to know more about it.
So, we're picking before squads are finalised? What happens if a pick gets injured/doesn't make the final squad?
Just pick sure things...and given carter has already gone I would say we are under way. The OP also said injuries are stiff cheese
Last time we did this, the rule was that someone could be replaced if they got injured after you picked them, and then they couldn't be brought back for the rest of the comp. People didn't get it / moaned a lot. So I think it's just easiest to say no replacements. Then we're all on the same page
I am picking 7th so all the decent kickers will be gone so yes gareth crossed my mind, may have to take the argies or some such team
