I got BF2 expecting the Forgotten Hope 2 mod to be active. It wasn't, and I haven't played BF2 since.
It's very repetitive. And that's one of my biggest hates. Dunno if many others feel that way though (Bedsey doesn't seem to mind repetitive games for example). Far Cry 1 is pretty fun, and should run OK if you can run F.E.A.R.
I have. It's essentially your average shooter with a minor storylines and decent level design. The horror in the game is what makes it unique and IMO it is genuinely scary. You pretty much shit your pants in a few instances.
Yeah, Splinter Cell is pretty fun. It's no Metal Gear Solid, and it's way too dark, but I still enjoyed one of them (can't remember which).
F.E.A.R. sucks balls. I don't mind repetitive gameplay if we've got an interesting story, level design, music, etc, but F.E.A.R has none of these.
FEAR's level design is pretty unoriginal and bland but IMO it fits the context of the game. Same with it's story. It's not Half-Life 2, but it's a passable story for a game of that genre.
