    Doubles Quarterfinals

Geraint Martyn & Blake Quilty have battled hard to reach the semifinal stage, beating Ginger Furball & Brett Hall over five sets. This will come as a surprise to many after the recent form of Furball and Hall, but the winning pair stamped their dominance with a good team display. First seeds Heath Davis & Truman Lee crashed out in the fiery heat, in a right trouncing by Chris Warrington & Bruce Force. Lee seemed unable to deal with the serves from the English pair, and despite winning the first set, Warrington and Force came back with all guns blazing to take the match. Warrington/Force played some lovely tennis, hitting winner after winner and putting pressure on every point. Their win sets up a tasty semifinal match against Gareth Weaver & Wes Welker, who easily pushed aside Haych Bots & Jonny Ridd in straight sets.

    Semifinals

Ivan Ryabovol has caused an upset by making it through at the expense of Luka Popovic. In an extremely unexpectedly one-sided match, Queenslander Ryabovol sat back and challenged his opponent with every shot to force many errors. Popovic has every right to be disappointed given the way he played, the only decent point in the match for him was in the third set, where he battled back twice from 15-40 down on serve to force a deuce and go on to win the game. He was also a point away from breaking Ryabovol, but that was quickly dealt with by the big man via some crafty serves. In the other tie, Wes Welker gave Rob Cribb a seemingly much needed tennis lesson, coming through in three sets. It was an easy affair for Welker, who seemingly just needed to hit the ball back to win points for most of the match. However for Welker, his ideas of dominance in both singles and doubles were short-lived today as he and Gareth Weaver lost out to Chris Warrington & Bruce Force, who seem to have hit new highs with this win. Between two very close and hard fought sets was a period of supremacy for the two Brits, who stayed almost error free for much of the match. They will face Samuel Yates & Bosh Burger, who had the longest match of the day by some way as they beat Geraint Martyn & Blake Quilty. Quilty's awful serve finally caught up with him, culminating in 36 double faults for the pair, though then again they weren't that bad off serve, so maybe with the right opponents even poor pairs have a chance at trophies, as evidenced by the losing pair today.

Yates and Burger ain't nothin' to fuck with

  17. Lukic L Popovic

Other than maybe the double fault counts being a bit high, there's nothing to fault in the sim.

Also is there going to be rankings released soon? Assuming I'll be 2 or 3 in the world which I'm glad with.

    40 double faults? :(
