Set to play the character Jack Reacher in the upcoming movie One Shot. Anyone not familiar with the author Lee Child, this is the description of Jack Reacher. Reacher is a giant, standing at 6' 5" tall (1.96m) with a 50-inch chest, and weighing between 210 and 250 pounds (100–115 kg). He has ice-blue eyes and dirty blond hair. What an absolute joke. Should have just asked Danny De Vito, it would have been just as big a farce. Tom Cruise = Biggest wanker.
They may be planning on using effects to make him appear bigger. Because I dare say the bloke's size is a big deal in the novels. Maybe they wanted Cruise's 'skills'. I bet the producers are Scientologists or something.
Cruise is a pretty good actor tbh. The fact he is entirely bat shit insane outside of his films make people look upon his work in a more negative light than is really deserved. That said I can't imagine him being presented in a film as anything over 6 foot flat.
That isn't really how it works, shooting people lower down makes them seem more intimidating and looming but it wouldn't work to film only Cruise lower down for a whole film. They could use some of the more sophisticated techniques in changing the distances between himself and other characters but what's the point? It's only a small detail and hopefully shouldn't matter THAT much. I doubt they'd try make him a head taller than everyone else anyway and just make him seem like an average height 6 foot tall guy as they typically do.
