I'd also rate NXT's R-evolution main event sami zayn vs Adrian Neville 5 star, that match was perfect to me lol but fuck me tho

Yeah that match had everything tbh

Circumstances of the match should be included in its rating. Especially considering the crowd reaction before, during and after the match. It doesn't get better or louder than that.

NXT takeover respect had an entire card of 3 stars or higher. When was the last time that happened in a WWE PPV

Hard to take Meltzer's star ratings especially seriously tbh.

Okada was probably my second favourite performer of the night. Like Nakamura, he has a real presence to him. Actually, all four of the guys in the last two matches were impressive. Ibushi has to be one of the best high-flyers in the world. Tanahashi looks really solid in the ring as well but maybe slightly generic in the character department? It's hard to tell without being able to understand a thing any of them say on the mic, but only Hogan can make the air guitar thing look cool. Early days though, I've only seen two of his matches.

After seeing how good Asuka was in NXT, I was disappointed there were no women's matches though.

Hard to argue that any of the matches were poor either.

That said you get the feeling they have more time to rehearse the spots than the main roster.

This is true, he rarely gives a 5 star rating to a match that does not deserve it. There are plenty of occasions, however, on which he has seemingly bent over backwards to avoid giving a match 5 stars.

Take various matches HBK had at Wrestlemanias since his comeback, for instance. On numerous occasions Meltzer has given him 4 and 3/4 stars. This is just pernickety bullshit imo.

I think Brock Lesnar proved tonight why he shouldn't ever do promos. Fuck he was hard to listen to sometimes during that podcast.

Also, man it was awesome seeing Austin in a ring again. Every time that glass shatters it's instagoosebumps

Well NXT has the beer now, just needs the money..

Roode was one of my favourite performers in 2011-2012 when I watched TNA. I always thought he lost a bit of his presence after he cut his hair though.

    Sorry about your damn luck.

This Okada guy is smooth as fuck in the ring.

    Two future WWE champs ;)

Yeah he's a cunt blatantly shitting in the hand that feeds him. Actually surprised Vince is up for it when he would usually not tolerate that attitude, then again hes swallowing his pride in the hope for better ratings.

Yeah, I was imagining the wrestlers from the WWE that would be able to go with guys like Okada/Nakamura in the ring. Bryan/Rollins, if they haven't already, were the two that immediately came to mind.

Watching NJPW has reminded me how awesome A.J. Styles is as well. And he's like 38/39 these days.

Wow I just found out that Bubba Ray Dudley is going out with Velvet Sky. Talk about punching above your weight.
