Yes. I had the game for a while before I returned it and bought Football Manager 09.

 

FM09 has a far larger player database. The details of the game are more comprehensive, you actually feel like a manager with the scouting and tactics involved with each game. It's just the little things like that.

I've also noticed that FIFA Manager 09 has a lot of bugs that weren't fixed properly because EA Sports rushed to get the game on the shelves before FM09. I don't know if you noticed them yet, but I sure did and it prompted me to return the game and buy the far superior FM09. Some of the bugs include the player missing a chance but it counts as a goal, or a player taking a direct free kick and the wall isn't even there, or even when you win 2-0 and you go to the results screen and it says you lost 4-1 or some shit. It happened to me all the time and I just got sick of it. The game is a mess TSTL.

If those bugs don't happen to you, then you should still get Football Manager 2009 if you can because the graphics engine, player database, realism and comprehension of it is FAR superior to FIFA Manager 09. They're not in the same league. It's the little things that count.

You'll understand what I mean once you play it.

 

The personal side is pretty gay. It's just choosing to have kids and choosing to spend your "salary" on shit like houses and cars. It's pointless.

Rather just concentrate on your team and on the game itself.

Just got that in my FM09 inbox. Hopefully it happens.

 

FMD I don't know what happened. I just played my 2nd league game against Aston Villa away. Conceded 2 quick goals and my players never recovered... they scored again and then an own goal. I was losing 4-0 at half-time.

I then had a brain explosion and pretty much put everyone at striker to try and salvage something. I ended up losing 6-0...

 

Also, I bought two players but there Work Permits haven't been accepted, so they have the red "WP" status next to their names and they can't play for me.

Last time I play FM09, this guy had the red WP next to his name for a whole season. What do I do in this case? Can I appeal or something? Or am I stuck with a bloke that can't play for me? lol

 

In situations like this it's best to have an affiliate club like Cercle Brugge or someone in a European country that has 3/4 years to gain citizenship. This will speed up the process and after the 3/4 years, you can play him. It's a bit of a bitch though as I bought Oswaldo Chaurant and sent him to Cercle Brugge for a year loan and when he came back he didn't want to go. I tried selling him but no-one wants him so he's rotting in my reserves at the moment. The best idea if you are buying youngsters from Brazil and they aren't getting a work permit is to offer them a part time contract or a full time contract, instead of a youth contract.
