Lower order will be the weak point IMO. Hopes at 6 could be dodgy, and I don't think Boucher is the best 6 either, although he'd be better than Hopes. Not having an 8 at this stage too means that if you get early wickets you could get them all out for a low total.
Plan is to either pick up a batsman to fill that role and just bowl Steyn, Finn, Hopes, Kumble and Raina (or whoever I pick up), or I'll pick up a genuine all-rounder to bat at 7 and move Boucher down, he performed really well for me in the lower order last time.
Oh yeah, totally forgot that Raina can bowl a bit. That'll work then. Batsman at 6, Hopesy at 7/8 and Boucher at 7/8. You'll be a force.
How many teams 5th bowling options go could determine a few games. Mine will be shared between North and Smith with van Jaarsveld chipping in a bit.
Yeah, but if it gets to the stage where he's bowling more than 5-10 overs I'm struggling anyway. Also, given the bigger squad sizes chances are I'll be able to adjust if it really isn't working.
While a 5th bowler won't often rip a team to shreds they can play a big part, especially if you do not have 4 strong bowlers. They may only chip in with a couple of wickets here and there but a dire option could release loads of pressure and make the job even tougher for the main bowlers.
