Soccer that doesn't deserve its own thread

Kaizer Chiefs vs Orlando Pirates today - biggest derby in Southern Africa. Reigning champs vs log leaders, and undoubtedly the two historical giants of sa soccer.

Haha gun thread. Have a soft spot for South African football after my FM2011 Pentagon save. FCAK they were called IIRC.

FCAK? Is that meant to be safrican?

Shouldn't all soccer related stuff be in this thread then?

Always seems to be so much going on.

    Ah.

You have to realise that a nfd match would struggle to get a few hundred fans. Second div sport is ignored in sa, so noone really knows much about it.

I don't follow local soccer all that much, mostly because it is largely dire. From what I've picked up, Shabba is still going strong, and Masilela moved back from Israel to Chiefs and doesn't seem to be playing much from what I can see - he's played 3 matches this season. Maybe he was injured. Keegan Ritchie has played 5 times, Zim international Jambo has played 8 times. All 3 are LBs - seems there is quite some competition at chiefs. I don't really see what chief's see in some of their signings though - a bit Man City like in their transfer policies. They have two of the best RBs in the league, 2 or 3 of the best LBs, 4 of the best strikers etc. They're just so loaded with guys that will be wasting away their wage bill.

Shabba just, messed up badly in the middle of the park, gave possession away and collins mbesuma scored after getting a good throughball. 1-0 pirates, surprising early lead.

Haha, interview with the minister of sport at half time

"hopefully the stadium will be as well supported when it hosts the first afcon match?"

"yes, everyone should make their way out to the stadium when we will be mauling cape verde."

Always had a soft spot for the Chiefs after they gave us Radabe.

Interesting to note that the Kaiser Chiefs actually named themselves after the club.

Ronaldo with more votes than Messi wut.

Looks bang on to me, though, player-wise.

I was thinking about maybe Yaya, but that midfield of Xavi, Pirlo and Iniesta is so tasty

  19. Cevno IV Narang

Not sure about the CB's maybe and would have a proper DM instead of one of Xavi/Pirlo. Alonso maybe or Yaya Toure even in that role.

Euros and Real winning the la liga, i guess.

Messi has been better this season so far, but can go either way for the whole year.
