A nice clear dry night for this Provincial trial between the Queenslanders and Victoria. A good number of rookies will be playing today, hoping that a good game will gain them a contract with one of the four Cricsim league teams.

Look out for Dion Alessi for the Victorians. The young rookie has looked solid when playing first grade and has proven to be a demon in the reserves.

For the Queenslanders, a lot of their success will be built on the fine distribution delivered by Luke Pilgrim.

 

8:00 Nigel Hunt is tackled by Jeff Rocker for the Queenslanders and a ruck forms. The Queenslanders have it, but with Pilgrim in the ruck, Hauritz is acting as half back, and was that a cheeky hand from a Victorian in the ruck? Either way, it's a knock on and a scrum to Victoria.

Pilgrim runs with it from the tap and go! He's spotted a gap in the Victorian defensive line, and he's through it! Where's the Victorian full-back gone? Son has gone walkabout and there's no one at home. A simple try for Pilgrim, but great work to exploit the gap in the defensive line.

Paddy Orr with the ball on the run here. He's not getting far, but just as Theo Miokovic comes in, he manages to offload to Steve Cambridge in time.

Steve Cambridge with the ball on the run here. He's already gained 7 metres. It looks like he's going to be tackled by Rabbit Boy but he manages to offload back to Paddy Orr with an inside pass. The cover defense has vanished, and only Boy can stop the Queenslanders here.

Paddy Orr with the ball on the run here - Boy is coming across, but Cambridge is still up on Orr's shoulder. Orr sucks in Boy and once he's committed to the tackle, Orr puts in a brilliant offload to Cambridge.

Steve Cambridge with the ball on the run here. There's no one left at home, and Boy can only look up from the ground where he's tackled Orr and see Cambridge touch down in the corner.
