    For those who missed it: Wood said he didn't take the 3 points at the end because that would only put England 7 points ahead and they wanted more, seemingly under the impression that 5+3 = 7

    In Greece so didnt catch the game beyond bbc text updates but the conclusion from that was our pack was poor and our backs fantastic?
    LCD still cant throw though which is a big shame

    The pack was beaten. Geoff did some good lineout work in the first half which set up two tries, and Haskell oddly enough made an impact of the bench. But overall pretty poor, especially in the scrum.

    Thought the halves were a bit anonymous, Wrigglesworth solid enough but Farrell had a few dodgy moment sin defence as well. Slade, May and especially Watson were great and Goode had a good day for him. Burgess looked good before going off stupidly, and after he came back they didn't really have enough of a platform from the forwards.

    Unsurprisingly there's a lot of press about Burgess this morning, but did he really have that good of a game?

    Yes he made some big hits in the first 25 minutes or so, but to me he didn't offer a lot.

    From what im reading Goode did what he does well, very well but his weaknesses at this level weren't address. Got a good review from both Dawson and Cueto though. The former compared Sladey to a young BOD which is about as high a praise as someone at 13 can get really

    New odds after four nations series

    New Zealand $5.00 (looked shaky at times and didn't allow for the combinations to settle)
    England $5.00 (joint favourites - gone up in the ranking by not being involved in an inconsistent four nations)
    Ireland $5.50
    SA $6.00 (don't care they came last in the rugby championship - they are a Quality outfit with a capital Q. They only thing they are missing is a good bench).
    Wales $8.00 (they will get out of their group - see my comments on Australia)
    France $10.00
    Australia $12.00 (Good players - clueless coach with a hard on for a has been flyhalf)

    Everyone else 1 million to one (including Argentina - they have improved massively by playing against the southern hemisphere sides but lack top quality centres)

    Thought those were the actual odds, was fizzing if it was $5 NZ odds, sadly no.

    Wales behind Aus for me, the coach won't fuck shit up in pool play, it'll be the play offs. I really think it'll be England and Aus through the Pool of Death now.

    I am convinced Wales will go through. I don't rate Gatland and regard him as being an idiot. But I regard Cheika as more of an idiot after the lineup he put out on Saturday night. Coaching is a HUUUGGGEEE factor in world cup tournaments. I know that France did well despite their coach last time but that was the exception that proves the rule as the coach subbed on some rookie 5 minutes from time in the final who quickly knocked it on and lost the match.

    If I can make a bet for who will make it out of that group then I would probably put $100 on Wales. Not prepared to go $200 as anything could happen. But confident enough to put $100 on Wales and England progressing.

    Have you seen Wales recently??? They're looking very average. Aus definitely have been in better form. I'd back Aussie from today's info/ form to beat them.

    Wales have absolutely no chance of progressing through that pool.
