Things I'm undecided on:

- Should the Pokemon available to be caught be based on the HGSS, or should we use the Sacred Gold/Storm Silver hack that gives access to all Pokemon from Generation I to IV?

Things I'm leaning towards but could easily be convinced to go either way:

- Trading is allowed and will boost experience gains. However, to discourage trade evolutions, you will not be allowed to receive a Pokemon you originally owned from a trade. Additionally, trades are limited to one per person per badge earned.
- Legendary Pokemon encounters will be limited to a single person. Haven't decided on how to choose who gets the first shot at this, but I definitely only want one of each legendary going around.

Things I've basically decided on that's different from the other Pokemon sims that you should just accept or bring a really, really good argument against:

- Starters will be Cyndaquil, Chikorita or Totodile.
- All Pokemon will have IV and EV. Exp gains will also follow the same formula as the games. Abilities will be based on the Generation IV ability.
- Related to the above, at points where other sims will have a "train" and "catch" randomisation, each person will have a set amount of battles with wild Pokemon and you will have to choose how that is distributed among your party of Pokemon.
- Also related to the above, you can choose some Pokemon on certain routes to ignore and just knock out for the exp or you can choose to focus more on catching certain Pokemon. For example, on Route 29 you can opt to ignore Pidgeys but try to catch a Rattata. This will give an increased chance of catching that Pokemon if you encounter it at all.
- Gym leaders will be the same, but with stronger Pokemon (think Sacred Gold/Storm Silver).
- Movesets will be based on Sacred Gold/Storm Silver. The effects of moves themselves will be based on the Generation V iterations.

What is the point of training an Abra, Gastly, Horsea etc. if you can never see it fully grown? Have to have some way that people can trade evolve and keep their Pokemon IMO.

EDIT: Actually, I'll just use the Covenant Orb thing from the hacks. All trade evolutions are now "stone" evolutions, except obviously not with stones.

No, I've just got scripts to parts of it for me.

1. Well we can start one up now, since I don't think there's anything that would affect the beginning of this that still needs to be decided on.
2. Nah, I don't see why this should take up more threads than the other sims.
3. I really want to see it succeed, but I just don't think it's going to happen since there doesn't seem to be enough interest in it. I'll still sim games, but I don't think a subbie would actually do anything right now.

 

Okay, sign-up sheet is up. Very basic, but that's because most of the choices will come throughout the game rather than at the sign-up. Also added a note about legendary Pokemon that I'd like to hear thoughts about.

 

We don't even get to choose our own name? Harsh.

 

Meh. I usually just get confused. Would prefer if I just used usernames/simming names here.
