Player movements and rumours

I'm sure the player ratings are just a NewsLtd troll to drive clicks. Team wins = 7, 8's & 9's, team loses 4, 5's 6's with a couple of outrageous rankings sprinkle in between to cause debate/outrage. They do the same thing with SOO & Australian team predictions.

Tago's effort on Olam especially was very lame.

    Momirovski to super league apparently

During the State Championship game, Gould kept saying he thought Taafe was a 6 and had been unfairly shoehorned into being a fullback. I reckon we might see Crichton at the back with Taaffe at 6. Hutchinson basically just a backup utility player IMO.

Release Crichton and loan them Suaalii for the year as compensation.

    I'd do it.

Closer to his parents? He's 27 and his work takes him to Sydney all the time already.

It is a bit of a weird one isn't it. Never know peoples personal circumstances though, just read he has 4 kids so maybe the mrs needs a bit of back up looking after them or something.

Michael Jennings ---> Roosters on Train and Trial.

I kinda don't mind it. Think it's great to see ex stars still running around in reserve grade, would be awesome as a kid coming through to learn off ex players who have been there and done it and makes it a more compelling argument for fans to go and watch a game IMO. I know Roosters also tried bringing Pearce back as well this year to play in reserves and already have Napa running around in reserve grade.

If Pearce, Napa and Jennings were running around Wenty Park every Saturday/Sunday arvo I wouldn't miss a game.

If he is in good nick, he might even get a game here and there if they have injuries in the centres and Robbo isn't keen to blood a rookie.

Good signing for them I reckon, good for Broncos to a degree as well regarding their cap. He would have been on pretty solid money, being signed on the back of winning a GF and playing for QLD.

I'd rather they still had him next season though, as our squad is still very young. I'm sure they'd rather keep him too as it's money they've already committed. But if it means we can keep Walsh and Mam, and as they've just locked up Riki and Piakura, it's probably for the best. They could upgrade both Walsh and Mam for next season, then save money down the road somewhere.

Seems odd to let him go immediately unless they are over the cap or needed to give a couple of off-contract players upgrades this year to make up for not being able to offer as much in the following seasons.

Not sure where Warriors plan to use him either, thought Ford had a pretty decent season. Potentially as a replacement for Curran?

Don't really think it improves the Warriors side much.

He seems like a good guy, but I don't think he's that good. He can come up with the odd pathetic effort in defence and it feels like he's always under an injury cloud. If they've spent big on him at 30 for 3 years I think it's a mistake.

It's likely a culture signing too. Webster was with him at Penny, and with Harris spending a number of games on the sidelines since he was signed, his experience should help them out.

Good decision by Broncos to let him go. His decline over the past 18 months, especially his lateral movement in defence has been quite obvious. Said it a while ago, I think his best position is at 13.

Looks like Luai ---> Tigers. He's getting overs, but overall, it's a good signing for them. Might help them attract/retain quality players.

I think I probably under rate Luai, but geez he strikes me as limited. I Thought the riff deal was very fair.

The way he dealt with the NSW stuff when he was getting a bit of flack, his little blow up with Salmon etc would have me a little nervous if I were a Tigers fan. If they're stuck down the bottom when he starts there I could easily see him losing the plot a bit. Will be interesting to see where Doueihi ends up. Think he could do a good job at 6 for riff.

Penrith will probs use Laurie after Luai is gone. I assume he came pretty cheap, being a Tigers fringe player.

There’s no doubt Luai is a significant over-pay but if you’re the Tigers, given the scarcity of halves around I can understand why they have paid.

I’ve always thought he’s had a high ceiling as a player but then was also impressed with his performances in the World Cup for Samoa when he was the main man for them. Problem is the World Cup is a few levels off NRL.

Will be very interesting to see how he goes outside the Panthers system.
