We are pleased to annouced the signing of the Claymore's opening bowler. The left arm swing bowler Zaheer Khan.
Michael Hussey and Danish Kaneria has been added to the squad. Hussey adds quality to the middle-order and I am sure he will rack up the runs and hopefully the Pakistani leggie can add an impact with his spin.
I wanted to add another international quality bowler to my attack as I was cautious of them all going and I was not 100% sure a decent spinner would be left come my next pick as I will near the bottom in round 4. While I could have maybe held out until then I would be quite surprised to have been able to get him late in Round 5 when my pick comes up. The guy does have a very good FC record and a decent test record. I think he is probably a better bowler than many gave him credit for.
Ive never minded Kaneria as a bowler. I think he will out bowl Warne in this, and they were taken in the same round. Better to be safe than sorry
I think in county cricket for the last season or two he's been fairly average. Averaging 30 ish IIRC.
Jacques Rudolph added to the squad. Quality South African opening batsman, who will hopefully get in some big innings. Can also throw down some handy googlies, which could be used from time to time in the 4th innings.
The experienced Sri Lankan all-rounder Warnakulasuriya Patabendige Ushantha Joseph Chaminda Vaas has been added to the squad. Despite being in the latter stages of his career I am confident he can contribute with both bat and ball.
The latest addition to the Claymores squad is the very talented Sri Lankan All-Rounder Angelo Mathews. At present he is a fairly inexperienced FC bowler meaning that he will likely be used mostly for his batting.
Nic Pothas has been added to the squad. Throughout his career as well as being a good gloveman he has also been good with the bat, allowing him to play as a specialist batsman on occasion. Pothas gives us flexibility as he is a good enough batsman to bat in the top 6.
