Summary: In what ended up as a fairly one sided performance, a very physical game was carried out between two fairly well drilled sides. The difference between the two sides today was the lineout and the kicking game. In both of these areas, the Emerging XV dominated with promising performances from Heath Davis and Aaron Hunt. There were penalties galore for the Emerging XV as an undisciplined Tongan side were unable to resist temptation at the ruck. This was highlighted when Finau Maka was shown the Red Card for flooring David Dafter, who was lucky to play the remainder of the match. What a huge hit that was from the fist of Maka. A resilient defensive performance from both Ben Jacobs and Steve Cambridge resulted in only one try conceded for the Emergers. Although, Jacobs was solid in attack and managed to get a try in the process, the fans of the Emerging XV will want the ball shipped to the wings more if the Emerging XV are to perform well on this tour.
