Yeah. I think that's the right decision - though the Season 2 Grand Final should still be under the old sim, really.
I was really looking forward to this. But by the same token I would prefer to see a new sim developed and Eds put his time into that. Still Hope we can get some more of this for when this new thing gets up off the ground.
Game 1: Tonga 1. David Dafter 7/10 Nothing special from The Daft, despite a fairly solid performance. Was very influential at rucks and mauls, despite being caught out at scrum time. 2. Alan Izett 6/10 Not a great day, but made a few handy contributions nevertheless. Both the lost lineouts from the Emerging XV were due to poor throws. 3. Eddie Morris 8/10 Held the Emerging scrum together, and without him, things could have easily buckled at the set piece. A key lifter in the lineout meant he was instrumental in making sure ball wasn't lost at the set piece. 4. James Torres 7/10 Part of a very well drilled Emerging lineout, and therefore played fairly well, but he was often found caught out in open play and missed a few important tackles at the fringe of the ruck. 5. Heath Davis 8/10 A good performance from the captain and was another part of the well-worked lineout, but also made his mark with an assist to Hunt's very late try. 6. Siege Morgan 5/10 A fairly poor performance from the young flanker. Needs to fight for his place in the next match, particularly on the defensive side where he was often below par. 7. Michael Chung 9/10 Chung was everywhere today. Terrorizing the 10, forcing penalties, making turnovers, and even getting an assist. A top all-round performance and even making a ploy for the First XV itself. Really held the backrow together. 8. Simon Humble 6/10 Despite having remarkably sticky hands to keep play going, during Cambridge's early try, an all-round poor performance and failed to get involved anytime after that. Needs to make more of an impact in future. 9. Sam Bakkum 7.5/10 A standard performance from the young scrummie. Did what was expected of him, but was certainly shadowed by the phenomenally instrumental performance of Hunt. Although, he did his job very well. 10. Aaron Hunt 9/10 All aspects of Hunt's game were very good today and his huge amount of points really made the difference today. Would have got the Man of the Match award on another day. 11. Andrew James 5/10 Very quiet day at the office for the Viking, but that may be because of the excellent performances of the backs inside him. Will certainly need to get involved more if he is to make an impact on the tour. 12. Ben Jacobs 7/10 A very standard performance from Jacobs. Often performing key moves and setting up partner Cambridge for the glory, and played a good role behind the scenes. Looks to have cemented his spot in the #12 jersey. 13. Steve Cambridge 9.5/10 A phenomenal performance from the centre. He did everything right and managed to pip a very, very good Hunt to the MoTM award, which he thoroughly deserves. An attacking magician today. 14. Alistair Son 6/10 Similarly to other winger, AJ James, Son failed to make an impact on the game. Despite showing signs of attacking movement, with a few handy sidesteps, we didn't see anything special coming from the Hurricanes winger/fullback. 15. Lucas Schaw 7/10 Schaw was very good under the high ball and was attackingly excellent but defensively was no where near good enough to play full-back and was often caught in the line leaving a clear run through for the Tongans.
