Because they believe a north player is better than a copy of that player for a different club. Likewise potential. I do think the Geelong troupe on here show a bit of bias towards Geelong. Not as much as the North guys but despite the fact that I like you guys as people I do find the Geelong bias (yours is with the young kids occasionally, Jager's is just in general) awfully frustrating. Yet again I can't really criticise. I'm sure I'm biased - that's why I rarely post on the Crows in general. Consider it a favour to you all
Of course we're biased, everyone here is to varying degree, I'm not going to deny that, but that's not what this was about. You said Joel Selwood isn't one of the most courageous players in the AFL, which is just wrong - and as a scholar of the game you should know that. Joel Selwood hate is bred purely out of jealousy from opposing supporters - either that he's better than their players, or their players aren't smart enough to generate freekicks like he does. There's no doubt that he creates those freekicks, he holds his arm out and throws in onto his neck, but how does that make him less courageous? If anything deliberately getting yourself smacked around the head to win the ball for your team is a courageous attribute, just as going hard at the footy is. Something Joel Selwood does regularly. <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/T_Ts6HmH968" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Two-time AFLPA most courageous player surely says something. AWTADiggler about Hodge, will find a way in.
I think he's one of the most courageous players in the AFL, I never said he wasn't. I just think to make a 22 where the time qualification goes back to the 70s it seems, he wouldn't make it until he's shown his courage for more games. No doubt he's courageous, no doubt. I do hate how he wins free kicks though. Hate it, I just wish players would play footy and let nature and the umpires take their course.
Serious injury involving his pancreas from backing into a marking a contest iirc. Somebody else could probably give better insight into the whole story then myself.
If that isn't courage I don't know what is. Ran and attacked the ball, knocking it forward knowing that contact could be coming.
Nah he's fine. I rate his football knowledge on everything but geelong. tbf though one expects everyone to be biased on their own club. it's not really an issue unless it's tripe which in 99% of cases on this site it's not. Youngman excepted.
